I Do Theories
- Ben wanted Jack to see Sawyer and Kate. He knew that would put Jack over the edge and make him want to do the surgery.
- When Ben promised Jack that he would get him off the island and take him home, I think Ben meant that he would take him off "Alcatraz" island and take him "home" to the original island. Therefore, Ben will be able to say that he kept his word, yet Jack will not be "free".
- Jack intends to keep Ben alive and get the tumor out, provided Kate and Sawyer get safely away.
- Jack tells Juliet before the surgery that if he asks her to do something she needs to do it then and there, no questions asked. I think it's part of his plan to have her help him to help Sawyer and Kate escape.
Observations from I Do
- The woman's voice on the "compound breakthrough" recording is the same voice that was on the countdown recordings in the Swan hatch.
- When Juliet comes to get Kate, Pickett says, "It was supposed to be two weeks." Ben had told Kate that the next two weeks were going to be very unpleasant when she first saw him after waking up in the shower (Ep: 3x1, A Tale of Two Cities).
- Now we know when and why Kate took the pregnancy test that she spoke to Sun about (Ep: 2x16, The Whole Truth).
