- My theory after the last episode Episode 3x3, Further Instructions, was that Eko, Locke, Desmond, and Charlie had a mind meld after the hatch implosion, but this episode makes me think that Desmond can see the future or has traveled through time.

- When Juliet brings Jack to the operating room to work on Colleen, Ben says, "Well, this is not why..." Jack is there for a purpose, to help whoever has the tumor, and it never occurred to anyone other than Juliet to ask him to save Colleen.
- Sawyer was reading Of Mice and Men in prison and both he and Ben referenced the book.
