- As a kid, Hurley's dad told him that he's got to have hope. He's got to believe good things will happen and then they will. At last, in the bus barrelling down the hill, Hurley has hope, and a good thing happens.
- Hurley's dad calls little Hurley "Little Dude".
- Looks like Hurley's food addiction starts when his father gives him a candy bar and then leaves for 17 years.
- Right after Hurley tells Charlie that death finds him, Vincent comes out of the jungle with a skeletal arm.
- I love the way Hurley talks louder to Jin, as if he'd understand English if Hurley raises his voice.
- Hurley slaps Charlie when Charlie doesn't have hope, the way Carmen slapped Hurley when he lost hope in his flashback.
