I think that at some point it will be revealed that John Locke and Benjamin Linus are half brothers.
Both of their mothers are named Emily! My theory is, she had John when she was a teenager and gave him up for adoption, and then met Ben's dad later in her life. The woman who conned John into meeting his dad was just hired by Anthony to fool John.
