• Episode 4x2, Confirmed Dead
  Miles is a ghost buster who goes to a woman's home in Inglewood, California to get rid of the ghost of her teenage grandson, who had been murdered.

  He ends up on a team to go to the island. It's not clear what the purpose is, but it seems that Miles is looking for Ben.

  Miles knows that Naomi was killed because she had used the code, "Tell my sister I love her." He accuses Kate, but Kate says it wasn't them, it was John Locke who is no longer with them.

Miles makes them take him to Naomi's body, where he kneels beside her with eyes closed and whispers. He says that Kate was telling the truth that she didn't kill Naomi.

Jack gets Miles' gun when Sayid and Juliet have guns on Miles and Daniel.

They find the pilot of the helicopter and the helicopter, which Sayid says has minor damage but will fly. Miles says they can't take Naomi on the helicopter because it's not really her, it's just meat.

When Miles finds out that Juliet was not on the plane, he starts yelling, asking where Ben is. He has a picture of Ben.

• Episode 4x3, The Economist
  Miles wants his gun back, but doesn't get it. He goes with Sayid to get Charlotte, but doesn't return with him, apparently taken prisoner by Locke's group.

• Episode 4x4, Eggtown
  Kate wants to know what Miles and the rest of the freighter people know about her. He says he will tell her if she gets him one minute with Ben. Kate comes up with a plan to get Locke out of his house so that she can sneak Miles down to the basement to talk to Ben.

  Miles tells Ben he wants 3.2 million dollars and he'll lie to his boss and say that Ben is dead.

  When his time is up, he tells Kate that they know all about her. They know that she is a fugitive.

• Episode 4x8, Meet Kevin Johnson
  Michael remembers seeing Miles on the freighter and Miles saying that Kevin Johnson wasn't his real name and not to worry, because most of them on the freighter were lying about something.

• Episode 4x9, The Shape of Things to Come
  Miles rings the doorbell of Ben's house when Sawyer, Locke, Ben, Hurley, Claire, and Aaron are barricaded inside. Sawyer looks out the window, then moves the barricade and pulls Miles inside. He asks who let him out and Miles says, "The same people who gave me this." He holds up a walkie talkie. He tells Ben that they want to talk to him and that they have a hostage. Ben doesn't care until he finds out the hostage is Alex.

  Miles goes with Sawyer's group, who head for the beach after the smoke monster attacks the men who came to get Ben.

  Episode 4x10, Something Nice Back Home
  Traveling to the beach with Sawyer, Claire, and the baby, Sawyer catches Miles staring at Claire. Sawyer tells him there is a restraining order on him and he isn't allowed within 20 feet of Claire.

  When they come upon the spot where Rousseau and Karl were killed, Miles gets flashes of what happened to them and unburies them enough for Claire and Sawyer to see who they are.

  Later, Claire stumbles and Miles offers to carry Aaron. Sawyer gets mad at him.

  Frank runs into them and tells them to hide, that Keamy is coming. Miles, Claire, Aaron, and Sawyer hide while Frank manages to get Keamy and his men away from the area.

• Episode 4x12, There's No Place Like Home Part 1
  Miles travels to the beach camp, first with Sawyer and then with Kate.

• Episode 4x13, There's No Place Like Home Part 2
  Daniel tells Miles to be sure to be in the next group that he is ferrying to the freighter. Miles says not to worry about him because he's going to stay. Daniel says that Miles doesn't understand the direness of the situation and Miles says he's very dire.

  Miles calls Charlotte out, asking why she would want to leave the island when she'd spent so much time looking for it. When she asks what he means, he fakes confusion and says, "What do I mean?"
