• Episode 1x24, Exodus Part 2
  Known as "the bearded man," he and three others came upon the raft that Sawyer, Jin, Walt, and Michael were on. The bearded man said that he was going to have to take the boy. They took Walt and blew up the raft.

• Episode 2x11, The Hunting Party
  Jack, Locke, and Sawyer search for Michael. Mr. Friendly finds them and tells them that where they are is the line and they are not to cross it. Jack refuses to give in, until Mr. Friendly reveals that he has Kate. Jack gives him their guns in exchange for Kate.

• Episode 2x15, Maternity Leave
  Claire sees Ethan talking to Mr. Friendly. He's clean shaven and dressed nicely, unlike all the other times we've seen him.

• Episode 2x22, Three Minutes
  In a recap of the scene from The Hunting Party we see that Mr. Friendly has Michael hidden at the time he's talking to Jack in the jungle.

• Episode 2x23, Live Together, Die Alone
  Ms. Klugh reveals that Mr. Friendly's name is Tom. He takes off his fake beard. When non-Henry Gale comes, we see that Tom is not very powerful among the Others.

• Episode 3x1, A Tale of Two Cities
  Tom instructs Kate to take a shower and then takes her to have breakfast with Ben. Later, he puts her in the cage opposite Sawyer.

• Episode 3x6, I Do
  Tom watches from the viewing room while Jack works on Ben. Jack tells Tom to bring the walkie talkie, and Tom gets on the walkie and tells Pickett to give the walkie to Kate. He yells for Pickett to do it.

• Episode 3x7, Not in Portland
  Tom confirms what Juliet is saying about them being on a smaller island. Jack tells Tom that Juliet told him to kill Ben. Tom kicks Juliet out of the operating room.

  While Jack and Tom watch Juliet and Ben talk, Tom introduces himself to Jack.

• Episode 3x9, Stranger in a Strange Land
  Tom gets Jack out of his room in the Hydra, saying that it's time to move. Jack thinks they are going to kill him, but Tom wonders why they would kill him.

  Later, Tom brings a sandwich to the cage where Jack is being held. Tom tells Jack to stay in the cage and to not do anything stupid.

  Isabel later gets Jack and takes him to a room where Tom and Juliet sit. She says that Tom said that Jack said that Juliet had asked Jack to kill Ben. She asks Tom if that's correct and Tom says it is.

  At Juliet's verdict reading, Tom opens the door after Alex knocks. He sees Jack and attacks him, but Isabel tells him to let Jack go.

• Episode 3x12, Par Avion
  Tom and Jack play a friendly game of football as Kate, Sayid, Locke, and Rousseau look on from the cover of the jungle.

• Episode 3x13, The Man From Tallahassee
  Tom plays football with Jack. Later, he goes to tell Ben that [Kate] Austen and [Sayid] Jarrah have found them and they have captured them and are holding them at Tom's house.

• Episode 3x20, The Man Behind the Curtain
  When Locke beats Mikhail, Ben calls for Tom, but Tom does nothing but watch.

• Episode 3x22, Through the Looking Glass
  Tom goes with Ryan's group to get the pregnant women from the tents. When the tents blow up, Tom, Ryan, and Jason survive because the dynamite Jin shoots doesn't explode. They capture Jin, Bernard, and Sayid.

  Tom tells Ben what happened and tries to get the three to tell them where Jack and the group went. Ben tells them to shoot [Jin] Kwon, and Bernard talks.

  Hurley runs over Ryan with the Dharma bus and Sayid breaks Jason's neck. Tom goes for a gun, but Juliet steps on his hand and takes the gun. He turns around and tells Sawyer that he gives up. Sawyer shoots him and says, "That's for taking the kid off the raft."

• Episode 4x6, The Other Woman
  In Juliet's flashback, Tom bursts in to her first meeting with Harper to tell her that Ben wants to see her. He tells her that before long Harper will have her crying over her daddy the way she'd had him crying over his daddy.

• Episode 4x8, Meet Kevin Johnson
  Michael remembers Tom finding him in Manhattan and telling him the island won't let Michael kill himself and that he has work to do. Michael later sought out Tom and Tom told him that Charles Widmore was looking for the island and may have found the coordinates. He wants Michael to go undercover on the freighter as Kevin Johnson, to kill everyone on it.
