Dr. Arzt is a high school science teacher. He says that they are on the cusp of monsoon season and they need to launch the raft now or wait three or four months. - Episode 1x23, Exodus Part 1
When the group decides to get dynamite, Arzt insists on going along to help, since he is the only one that knows how to properly handle dynamite. Hurley calls him Arznt, but Arzt tells him that's wrong. Hurley threatens to call him by his first name, Leslie, so Arzt says that Arznt is fine.As they travel, they hear the monster and Arzt runs. He wants to go back, but they talk him into going forward to get the dynamite.
