    When Desmond is released from prison, Charles is there with a box of letters. He had confiscated Desmond's letters to Charles' daughter, Penny, before she saw them. He gives Desmond money and tells him to stay away from his daughter.
  • Episode 3x8, Flashes Before Your Eyes
    In an interview with Charles Widmore, Desmond is given a job in the administrative department, but he says he's not there for a job, he's there to ask for Penny's hand in marriage. Charles says that Desmond is not worthy of his daughter.

  • Episode 4x5, The Constant
    In a flash of 1996, Desmond finds Charles at an auction. Charles bids on and wins a journal from the first mate of the Black Rock. He then goes to the bathroom, where he talks to Desmond and gives Desmond Penny's new address.

  • Episode 4x6, The Other Woman
    Ben shows Locke a video of Charles Widmore beating one of Ben's men who had gotten caught.

  • Episode 4x8, Meet Kevin Johnson
    Michael remembers Tom telling him that Charles Widmore staged the plane wreckage. He dug up graves in Thailand and bought and old plane. Tom said that Charles was looking for the island and they think he finally found the coordinates. Michael needs to go on Charles' freighter and kill everyone on board.

    Michael remembers that later, Frank told him that the wreckage is fake and he's on the freighter because Charles Widmore believed him.

  • Episode 4x9, The Shape of Things to Come
    Ben sneaks into a penthouse in London where Charles is sleeping. Ben wakes him up and Charles says that he wondered when Ben was going to show up. Charles mentions that he'd been having nightmares and asks if Ben is there to kill him, but Ben says they both know he can't do that.

    Ben tells Charles that he's going to murder Charles' daughter the way Charles murdered Ben's daughter, but Charles says that he's playing the victim and it was Ben that murdered Alex, not Charles. Charles says Ben will never find Penny.

    Ben says Charles will never find the island.

  • Episode 4x13, There's No Place Like Home Part 2
    In a flash forward, Sun goes to London to see Charles Widmore. She says that they have common interests and as Charles knows, the Oceanic Six weren't the only people to leave the island. Sun gives him her business card and tells him to call when he's ready to talk.

  • Episode 5x1, Because You Left
    Charles talks to Sun at the airport, asking what their common interests are that she had spoken of earlier. She says to kill Benjamin Linus.

  • Episode 5x3, Jughead
    Desmond storms into Charles' office and asks where he can find Daniel Faraday's mother. He tells Charles that he knows he has questions, but he is not going to answer them, he just wants Charles to tell him where to find Daniel's mother. Charles says she is in L.A. and gives him the address.

    In the past on the island, the man with the name Jones on his uniform is actually a young Charles Widmore.

  • Episode 5x7, The Life and Death of Jeremy Bentham
    Locke makes it off the island, and is taken to a hospital, where Charles has a specialist flown in to reset Locke's broken leg. Charles is by his bedside when Locke wakes and he tells Locke that he will help him get the Oceanic 6 back to the island and that Ben is lying.

    Charles gives Locke a passport with the name Jeremy Bentham and gives him a file on where each of the Oceanic 6 is. He also gives him a driver, Matthew Abaddon, whom Locke remembers as the orderly who told him to go on the Walkabout.

  • Episode 5x12, Dead is Dead
    Charles is upset with Richard for bringing young Ben into their camp. Charles goes and meets Ben and tells him that he is among friends and that just because he lives with the Dharma folks it doesn't mean that he's not one of Charles' people.

    Several years later, Charles sends Ben to kill Rousseau, but Ben comes back with her baby and says that he didn't kill her because she is not a threat to them. Charles says he should have killed the baby and Ben holds the baby out to Charles and tells Charles to do it. Charles walks away.

    Several years later, Charles is banished from the island. Ben says it's because he had been going back and forth from the island to the mainland and he had a daughter with an outsider. Charles says that Ben is taking what is Charles' and that someday Ben will be in the exact same position.

  • Episode 5x14, The Variable
    In Daniel's flashback, Charles goes to see him and tells him to go to an island to heal himself and to further his research.

    In the present, Charles shows up at the hospital where Desmond has been taken after being shot by Ben. He asks Eloise how Desmond is and Eloise says he's going to be fine. Eloise says he should go in and say hello to his daughter and he says that his relationship with his daughter is one of things he had to sacrifice. She says not to talk to her about sacrifice, she had to send her son to the island. Charles says, "He's my son, too, Eloise," and she slaps him.

  • Episode 5x15, Follow the Leader
    In 1977, Charles finds Jack and Kate crouching in the bushes outside the Others' camp. He beats Jack and then takes them into camp. Eloise says she's going to take them to the bomb, and Charles puts his hand on her stomach and says he's worried about her in her condition.
