Sawyer pulls the bullet out of his shoulder with his hand. Michael and Sawyer argue over who's fault it is that Walt was taken. They are on separate pieces of raft wreckage, but because of the current, they stick together. Sawyer, Michael, and Jin are thrown into a pit dug out of the ground. Ana-Lucia gets thrown in with them, and when Sawyer comes up with a plan to get them out, she steals his gun and gets out of the pit.Episode 2x4, Everybody Hates Hugo

Jack and Locke put all the guns and medicine in the gun vault and Locke changes the combo, giving the combo only to Jack. When Sun is kidnapped, Jack wants the guns, only Sawyer had told Locke that Jack was coming, so Locke hid the guns. Sawyer shows up with the guns, saying there is a new sheriff in town. With the help of Charlie, Sawyer had conned Jack, Locke, and Kate in order to play Jack and Locke against each other and gain control of the guns.Episode 2x16, The Whole Truth
Sawyer won't let Sun look through his medical supplies, but is so intrigued when she just walks away that he tells her she can have whatever she wants for free, but she has to tell him what it is. She asks for a pregnancy test.

Thanks to Jack, Sawyer has to decide whether to give up the whereabouts of his stash or let Libby suffer. He shows Kate where his stash is.After Libby dies, Sawyer comforts Kate.
Episode 2x22, Three Minutes
Sawyer is really torn up about Ana-Lucia's death. He tells Jack that they hooked up and that is how Ana-Lucia got his gun. He admits that Jack is "the closest thing" he has to a friend.Sawyer wants to take Sayid with them to the Others' camp, but Michael is against it.
Episode 2x23, Live Together, Die Alone
Sawyer follows Michael through the jungle along with Jack, Kate, and Hurley to get Walt back.They are captured by the Others.
