Episode 2x4, Everybody Hates Hugo
Jack tells Hurley to inventory the food closet that they found in the hatch. Hurley doesn't want to, but Jack tells him he has to. Hurley tells Rose of the hatch so that she can help with the inventory. He tells Rose that everyone will hate him once they find out about the food. Hurley gets the leftover dynamite and begins to rig it to blow up the food closet, but Rose stops him from going through with it. Hurley ends up taking the food and passing it out to everyone.

Hurley helps Sawyer find a loud tree frog in exchange for Sawyer not telling on him for having a food stash.Episode 2x16, The Whole Truth
Hurley is caught by Sun with a candy bar in the jungle. He is nervous and offers her some, but doesn't seem to notice that she is trying to hide something too.Episode 2x17, Lockdown
Jack asks if Hurley knows where Ana-Lucia is. Hurley says that he's not in the loop but that he should be.Sawyer attempts to teach Hurley how to play poker, but Hurley doesn't catch on very quickly.
Episode 2x18, Dave
Libby encourages Hurley to get rid of his stash, which he does by dumping everything out onto the forest floor. They almost kiss, but a bunch of people run by saying they found something. Hurley and Libby follow the people to the food drop, where everyone begins arguing over the food. Hurley is shocked. They want him to be in charge of handing it out, but he adamantly says he won't do it.Hurley sees Dave, from the hospital, in his bathrobe and slippers and chases after him. Later he talks to Dave and Dave tells him that he's still in the hospital and that he's imagined the island and everyone on it. Dave tries to get Hurley to jump off a cliff, but Hurley doesn't do it. Libby finds him and talks him into believing that she and he and everyone on the island are real. They kiss and walk away from the cliff.
Episode 2x20, Two for the Road
Hurley plans a picnic for Libby, but everything keeps going wrong. First he tries to get a radio from Sayid, but that doesn't work. Then she catches him as he gathers food. They get lost in the jungle and he leads them back to their own beach instead of a secret beach. He doesn't have blankets or drinks. Libby sends him to find wine and she goes to get some blankets.Episode 2x21, ?
Hurley looks for Libby and Kate tells him what happened. He goes to the hatch and asks to speak to Libby. He apologizes for forgetting the blankets. She sputters, "Michael," and then stops breathing. Hurley holds her hand and cries.Episode 2x22, Three Minutes
Hurley is upset that everyone is talking about going to get Walt when they haven't even buried Ana-Lucia and Libby.Later, he digs a grave and Michael asks if he's coming to get Walt. They get in an argument when Hurley says he's not going. Kate stops the argument.
At the funeral, Hurley says that Libby was his friend and she helped him. He turns to Michael and says, "I'm going with you, man."
Episode 2x23, Live Together, Die Alone
Walking through the jungle, Hurley sees a giant bird that he thinks calls his name.Jack forces Michael to confess and Hurley finds out that Michael killed Ana-Lucia and Libby.
When they are taken by the Others, Miss Klugh tells Hurley to go back to his camp and tell the rest of them to never come here.
