The tail section of the plane crashes in the ocean and twenty-three survivors make it to shore. The first night, three of the men are taken. Eko kills two people with a rock and then stops talking. Ana-Lucia seems to bond with two children, Emma and Zack. On day twelve more of them are taken, including the children. Ana-Lucia kills one of them and then searches the woman's rudimentary clothes. She finds an army knife and a note with the names of the people that were taken.Ana-Lucia moves the survivors into the jungle, where they finally make camp. She suspects that Nathan is one of the attackers, so she builds a pit and throws him in, hoping he'll confess. Goodwin kills Nathan, and Ana-Lucia figures out that Goodwin is one of the attackers. She kills him.
When they find Jin on the beach, Ana-Lucia believes that he is one of the attackers. He breaks free and then he and Michael and Sawyer are all captured and thrown into the pit.
Once Ana-Lucia believes that Jin, Michael, and Sawyer were on the plane, they decide to go find the other camp and travel through the jungle, carrying Sawyer in the stretcher.
Cindy disappears, they hear whispers in the jungle, and when Shannon comes into sight, Ana-Lucia panics and shoots her.
