Live Together, Die Alone Island Highlights
The survivors believe they are rescued when a sailboat comes their way. Jack, Sayid, and Sawyer swim to the boat. They board the boat, guns drawn, but don't see anyone. They hear music from the cabin and suddenly shots ring out. Jack breaks the door and they see Desmond, drunk, laying on the floor.Desmond tells Jack that he should have been in Fiji in about a week, but after being on the water for over two weeks, he ended up back at the island.
Later, Sayid and Jack talk about Michael and Sayid comes up with a plan that Michael will lead the one group by land and Sayid will use Desmond's boat to get to the other side of the island so that he can scout the Others' camp. Then the two parties will join up to go after the Others.
Eko sits in front of the computer and Locke tries unsuccessfully to get him to stop pushing the button.
Jack hands Michael, Kate, and Sawyer a gun. Hurley won't take a gun. The group heads out.
Sayid asks Desmond if he can use the boat. Desmond says he can, but won't go with him, so Sayid has to find someone who knows how to sail. Jin agrees to go with him and Sun insists on going too.
The Michael group continues through the jungle and a huge, prehistoric looking bird that sounds like it's screeching, "Hurley," flies down next to them, then away. Michael tries to shoot the bird, but there are no bullets in his gun. "Sorry, guess I forgot to load that one," Jack says.
Charlie sees Locke leaning up against a tree sobbing. Charlie seems pleased and tells Locke that Desmond is back.
Desmond tells Claire that she's wasting her time with the vaccine.
Locke and Desmond talk. Locke tells Desmond about The Pearl and that the button is not real. He talks Desmond into going with him to the hatch.
From the sailboat, Jin, Sun, and Sayid see a big statue of a foot with four toes.
In the hatch, Locke and Desmond trick Eko into going out of the computer room and Desmond causes a lockdown. Locke and Desmond are in the computer room and Eko is outside the room. Eko gets Charlie to show him where the dynamite is and they return with it.
In the jungle, Kate realizes that they are being followed and shoots one of the Others. The other one gets away. Jack forces Michael to tell them the truth and he tells them about the list. Jack says he has a plan.
Charlie tries to talk Eko out of blowing up the blast door. He tries to reason with Locke. Desmond says the door will hold. Eko lights the fuse.
Desmond tells Locke that he thinks his friends blew themselves up. Locke says they are not his friends. Desmond wants to open the doors, but Locke won't let him.
Sayid sneaks into the Others' camp and figures out that they are not there.
Kate sees a large pile of tubes in the jungle and opens one to find a journal. They see Sayid's signal fire and realize that Michael is not leading them to the shore. Michael said he had to do it. Suddenly they are hit with darts.
In the hatch, Desmond wants to know everything about The Pearl. Locke tells him of the printout and gives it to Desmond to read.
As the timer counts down, Desmond asks Locke what date they arrived. Locke says September 22nd. Desmond reads the printout and figures out that on September 22nd there was a system failure. That was the day that he hadn't gotten the numbers in on time. "I think I crashed your plane," Desmond tells Locke.
Jack, Kate, Hurley, and Sawyer are led to the end of a pier by the Others. The bags on their heads come off and they see Mr. Friendly, who Miss Klugh says is called Tom. A boat comes in with non-Henry Gale and he chides Mr. Friendly for taking off his beard. Non-Henry tells Michael how to get rescued and lets Michael get on the boat with Walt.
Miss Klugh tells Hurley to go back to his camp and tell everyone to never come here.
Desmond says they should push the button and tries to get past Locke. Locke throws the computer on the floor. The timer gets to zero and the whole hatch shakes. Metal pots and pans fly to the magnetic wall.
Desmond gets a key and goes below the hatch floor to the security system. He turns the key and everything goes white. A loud noise is heard all over the island, and there is a bright light.
The hatch door flies to the beach and lands next to Claire.
In another country, a message comes up on a computer screen and two men call Penelope Widmore.
