Episode 1x1, Pilot Part 1
Kate comes into the clearing where Jack is, rubbing her wrists. Kate reluctantly stitches Jack's wounds.On the second day, Kate insists on going with Jack to find the transceiver. Kate recognizes Charlie as the three of them search for the plane and transceiver, but she doesn't know from where. He tells her he is in the band DriveShaft.
Kate notices that Charlie is not with them once they find the plane, and finds him in the bathroom, as if he is searching for something.
An unseen force snatches the pilot. Kate, along with Charlie and Jack, runs for her life. Kate suddenly finds herself alone and terrified in the jungle, screaming for Jack. Charlie comes and they double back to find Jack, but instead find the mutilated pilot up in a tree.
Episode 1x2, Pilot Part 2
Kate asks Charlie what he was doing in the cockpit bathroom and doesn't believe him when he says throwing up.Episode 1x3, Tabula Rasa
When the transceiver people argue over who should keep the gun, they finally decide that Kate is the most trustworthy and she reluctantly agrees to take care of it.Kate tells Jack of the French woman's transmission even though the transceiver people had agreed to keep it a secret.
Episode 1x4, Walkabout
Kate anxiously asks Jack if the Marshal has said anything and Jack says no. Kate studies the Marshal and he suddenly awakens and tries to choke her. She is saved by Jack.She goes on a boar hunt with Locke and Michael and on the way back climbs a tree with Sayid's antenna, only to drop it when she hears the unseen force.
Episode 1x6, House of the Rising Sun
Kate finds two corpses in a cave when running away from bees. She does not agree with Jack that they should move to the caves and so stays on the beach.Episode 1x7, The Moth
Kate helps Sayid with the triangulations of the antennae, but leaves her post when she finds out Jack has been involved in a cave-in.Episode 1x8, Confidence Man
Kate won't kiss Sawyer when he says that's all he wants in exchange for Shannon's medicine. After Sawyer is tortured, and Kate finally kisses him, he tells Kate that he doesn't have the meds. She slaps him.Kate figures out that the letter Sawyer has was written by him, not to him.
Episode 1x12, Whatever the Case May Be
Kate and Sawyer find a silver case and she works hard to get it from Sawyer. Kate asks Jack to help her get the key to the case, and when he does, she tries to hide the fact that she found the key, but he knows she has it. Kate pulls a toy airplane from the case which seems unreasonably special to her.Episode 1x13, Hearts and Minds

Kate helps Sawyer track a boar. They spend the night alone and play a game which reveals that they had each killed a man.Episode 1x19, Deus Ex Machina
Kate first talks Jack into examining Sawyer for his headaches, and then talks Sawyer into seeing Jack about his headaches.Episode 1x20, Do No Harm
Kate has to deliver Claire's baby in the jungle because Jack is busy with Boone. Kate talks Claire into letting the baby come. Kate helps Claire deliver a baby boy.Episode 1x21, The Greater Good
Kate slips Jack sleeping pills because he is so exhausted, but doesn't want to rest.Episode 1x22, Born to Run
Kate attempts to change a passport and give herself a new identity. She also tries to get a spot on the raft to get off the island. Sawyer lets everyone know that Kate is a fugitive because he is afraid she will take his spot on the raft.Kate gives Sun the idea to poison Jin to make him just sick enough to not be able to go on the raft.
