Episode 1x1, Pilot Part 1
Jack wakes up disoriented in the jungle. He finds a small vodka bottle in his pocket. Once he gets his bearings and realizes they'd survived a plane crash, Jack immediately begins to help others. When others are taken care of, Jack finds a sewing kit and sneaks off into the woods to stitch his cut back. Kate comes into the clearing and reluctantly stitches Jack's back.Jack has the idea to look for the transceiver in the front of the plane. Jack, Kate, and Charlie find the front of the plane and the transceiver. An unseen force kills the pilot, forcing the group to run for their lives.
Episode 1x2, Pilot Part 2
Jack breaks up a fight between Sawyer and Sayid.Jack operates on a badly wounded survivor who regains consciousness long enough to ask Jack, "Where is she?"
Episode 1x3, Tabula Rasa
The man Jack works on is a U.S. Marshal. Every time the Marshal awakes he says things like, "Don't trust her" and "She's dangerous." Jack sees a mug shot of Kate in the Marshal's pocket.Kate has a secret to tell Jack and he thinks she is going to tell him about her past, but instead she tells him of the French woman. Jack lies to Kate and tells her that the Marshal has said nothing.
Jack enters the fuselage to find antibiotics for the Marshal and is careful not to disturb the bodies. He is appalled to find Sawyer inside collecting stuff off of the dead.
Hurley tells Jack of the gun he saw Kate with, and Jack makes a run for the tent, believing that Kate might kill the Marshal, but he is too late. He hears the gun shot just before he reaches the tent. But it isn't Kate who walks out, it is Sawyer. Sawyer's shot didn't kill the Marshal, so Jack kicks Sawyer out. Soon the Marshal's screams stop and Jack walks out without talking to anyone.
Episode 1x4, Walkabout
Jack makes the decision to burn the bodies in the fuselage.Jack talks to Rose, who believes that her husband is still alive even though he was in the tail section of the plane.
Episode 1x5, White Rabbit
Jack rescues Boone from the ocean, but the woman Boone had been trying to save drowns.Jack keeps seeing a man in a suit and figures out he's his dead father. While chasing him, Jack falls off a cliff and is rescued by Locke, who tells him to consider that these are not hallucinations. Jack finds his father's empty coffin and smashes it. Jack decides to take charge and tells the survivors that "If we can't live together, we're going to die alone."
Episode 1x6, House of the Rising Sun
Jack determines that the corpses Kate found in the caves are a male and a female and seem to have been laid to rest. He finds with them one black stone and one white stone. Jack believes that the caves would be a good place for the survivors to live. Some agree and move there with him, others, including Kate, stay on the beach.Episode 1x7, The Moth
Jack is buried in a cave-in, and is finally saved by Charlie.Episode 1x8, Confidence Man
Jack confronts Sawyer to get Shannon's asthma meds, but Sawyer won't give them to him. He punches Sawyer. He allows Sayid to torture Sawyer to get the meds, but can't watch. He then saves Sawyer after Sayid stabs him.Episode 1x10, Raised by Another
Jack offends Claire by offering her sedatives for what he believes are pregnancy related anxiety nightmares.Episode 1x11, All the Best Cowboys Have Daddy Issues
Jack feels guilty for not believing Claire and against Locke's wishes, goes to search for her after her abduction. Kate goes with him, but they get separated and Ethan beats Jack and warns him to stop following. They continue to look for Claire and find Charlie strung to a tree by his neck. Jack is barely able to save Charlie's life.Episode 1x12, Whatever the Case May Be
Jack helps Kate get the key to open the Marshal's case. He knows that she hid the key from him and makes her open the case with him. It's full of guns and a toy airplane.Episode 1x13, Hearts and Minds
Jack asks people if they trust Locke. Charlie does, Sayid does not.Episode 1x15, Homecoming
Jack decides to form a posse to go after Ethan.Episode 1x16, Outlaws
Jack is upset that Kate is able to get the gun back from Sawyer. He wonders what Kate had to give him in return.Episode 1x18, Numbers
At Kate's request, Jack examines Sawyer for his headaches and gives him glasses.Episode 1x19, Deus Ex Machina
Jack goes with Sayid, Charlie, and Hurley to find Rousseau's place, but they discover it has been booby trapped and blown up.Jack begins to work on Boone after he is severely injured while out with Locke.
