Boone tries to get his lazy sister, Shannon, to help go through the wreckage with him and the other survivors.
Boone steals the gun from Sawyer and the clip from Sayid causing yet another argument.
Boone tries to get Shannon to talk to Rose, but Shannon is more concerned with herself. Shannon tries to prove to Boone that she can take care of herself, by getting Charlie to get her a fish. Boone finds out that Charlie got the fish and argues with Shannon.
Boone tries to rescue a woman from the ocean, but instead Jack rescues him and the woman drowns.
Boone loots Sawyer's stash to find Shannon's asthma meds, but can't find them and is beat up by Sawyer. Kate later finds out that Sawyer never had the meds.
Boone tells Locke that he worked in the wedding industry for his mother. Boone and Locke find something metal in the ground during their search for Claire.
Boone acts jealous at Shannon's attention toward Sayid.
Boone threatens to tell Shannon about the hatch and Locke ties him up. Boone has a hallucination that the monster kills Shannon.
Boone offers to be one of the guards to guard the camp against Ethan, but falls asleep and one of the survivors is murdered.
Boone is getting more skeptical about the hatch. He doesn't think they can open it, but Locke says they just need to follow the signs of the island. Boone wants to head back to Jack after Locke's legs begin to fail on a hike through the jungle to find a plane that Locke saw in a dream. Boone climbs into the plane and realizes it belonged to drug smugglers. Boone makes a mayday call from the plane and hears a voice reply. Then the plane tumbles to the ground with Boone in it. Locke carries Boone to Jack. Boone is badly injured.
Boone tells Jack about the hatch before he dies.
