Sawyer's No Hero

Walt sleeps and Sawyer looks at the radar equipment. Michael says that he just turned it on a little while ago, but Sawyer wants to turn it on every hour, like Sayid said. "We're only 15 miles out. We could be here for weeks. If that battery runs out-"

Sawyer insists that they turn it on every hour, exactly how Sayid said. They turn it on and nothing. Michael says, "Five minutes, no more."

Sawyer talks about Michael's patience and the talk turns to Walt. Sawyer doesn't think Michael keeps a tight enough reign on Walt. Michael asks how Sawyer was parented and he says that his daddy never got a chance to beat him. "He shot himself when I was eight."

Michael figures that's why Sawyer wants to die. Michael says that to go on the raft, "You're either a hero or you want to die."

"Well I ain't no hero, Mike."

The radar bleeps.

Locke's Flashback - The Wheelchair

Locke sits by himself in his wheelchair. An agent comes over and says, "I'm sorry, sir, but the special wheelchair that we use for loading the disabled passengers, well, no one seems to know where it is right now. Unless we find it I'm not sure we can get you on."

Locke says there is not another flight until the next day. The agent says there is nothing she can do. A flight attendant offers to carry him on and Locke looks embarrassed, but agrees.

Hurley Takes the Extra Dynamite

Locke, Kate, Jack, and Hurley arrive at the hatch. Locke says, "Hugo, take these extra sticks back a couple hundred yards." Hurley looks surprised that Locke used his real name, but does as he's told after asking for the flashlight to replace his torch.

Locke gives instructions to Kate and Jack and they rig the charges.

They Were Coming for the Boy

From the jungle, Sayid and Charlie see a fire on the beach that is the source of the black smoke, but no one is around and there aren't even any footprints. They hear a baby cry in the jungle and Sayid calls for Rousseau.

She steps out onto the beach, holding the baby. Rousseau is crying. "They were not here," she says. "I just wanted my Alex back. I thought if I gave them the baby..."

Sayid takes the baby and hands him to Charlie. Charlie says, "There never were any Others. You started the fires yourself!"

"No," she says. "I heard them whispering. The Others said they were coming for the boy."
