"Exodus Part 1" Recap

Part 4

By Bonnie Covel, About.com

One Flare

Sayid salvaged the radar from the plane that Locke and Boone had found. He tells the raft crew that they can turn it on once an hour to check for ships on the horizon. He also found a radio transmitter, which they need to use sparingly, and a flare gun with one flare.

The Black Rock

Rousseau stops and they ask her why. "Because we're here." The Black Rock is a huge ship with foliage growing all over it.

Sun's Flashback - Sun Cares for Jin

Sun brings Jin food at the airport cafeteria. She places a napkin on his lap and the Americans at the next table, believing that Sun and Jin can't understand them, speak rudely about them. Sun spills Jin's drink on him and he goes to find the bathroom.

Goodbye

Sun approaches the raft and hands Jin a notebook. It's words she'd written out so that he can learn a little English. He doesn't look up for a long time, then says, "I'm sorry."

Sun apologizes too. She says he doesn't have to go and he says he's on the island because he's being punished and he has to go because he has to save her. She says she loves him and they hug and kiss.

Everyone else is saying goodbye as well. Shannon gives Charlie a message for the bottle. Charlie gives the bottle to Sawyer. Everyone gathers around and they push the raft out.

Michael, Jin, Sawyer, and Walt are on the raft and everyone waves to them. Shannon holds Vincent and he strains against his leash, finally breaking free and swimming out into the water. Walt tells Vincent to go back and he finally does.

Jin and Sun share a long look. The sail goes up and the raft sails away.

Inland, black smoke rises above the trees.
