Claire Stay with Charlie
On another part of the beach, the baby is in the cradle and Charlie plays the guitar while Claire cuts his hair. Charlie says he's writing again and he feels good. He wants to know what Claire is going to do first when she gets off the island. She doesn't know.
"You can hang out with me in L.A.," he says. "You and Turnip Head until you figure things out."
She accepts and he says, "Smashing!"
Jack's Suspicious
Kate asks Jack how Michael is doing. Then she asks if someone is going to take his place on the raft. Jack asks if she poisoned Michael and she gets upset. "Do you really think I'm capable of that?"Jack says, "I don't know what you're capable of." And Kate stomps off.
Kate's Flashback - Tom and Katie
Kate pulls a metal box out of the ground. They open the box and pull out a bunch of stuff, including the toy plane. "I can't believe I let you talk me into putting this in there," Tom says, holding the plane."That was your idea," she says and picks up a cassette tape. "Kate and Tom, 1989."
They sit in the car and listen to themselves as kids. Young Tom says he wants to put the plane in. They talk about how cool it is to do a time capsule. Tom wants to dig it up in 20 years and Kate asks how he knows they'll still be together.
"Because we'll be married and you'll be a mom and we'll have nine kids," young Tom says.
"I don't think so," she says. "As soon as I get my license we should just get in a car and drive. You know, run away."
Young Tom says, "You always want to run away, Katie."
"Yeah, and you know why," young Kate says.
They take the tape out and Tom says, "Funny how things turn out, huh?" They kiss and then Kate apologizes for kissing him.
Don't Open That Thing!
Locke tends to his leg wound and Walt asks if it hurts. Locke asks if Walt wants something and Walt says that he didn't poison his father.Locke believes him and puts his hand on Walt's wrist. Walt looks at Locke's hand and pulls away. "Don't open it!" he shouts.
Locke asks what he's talking about. Walt says, "Don't open it, Mr. Locke. Don't open that thing!"
Michael's Poison
Locke asks Jack if he thinks Michael has heat stroke, but Jack says it came on too fast for that and he and Jin are on the same diet, so it's not the food. Jack looks at the water bottles. "You think it's the water," Locke asks.Jack doesn't think it's the water, but something in the water. He holds up the bottle to show white residue on the bottom. Jack goes back to Michael and tells him to only drink the water Jack gives him.
Michael asks if Jack thinks he was poisoned, then says that Sawyer might have done it.
Locke talks to Hurley and asks how Michael and Jin have been getting along and he says they act like a married couple. Locke says Michael may have been poisoned and Hurley asks if Kate might have done it because she wanted on the raft, and, "Well, you know, the whole fugitive thing."
Jack gives Hurley a look and Hurley says, "He doesn't know?"
Locke asks what Kate did. And Jack says he doesn't know. Locke wants to know why Jack didn't tell everyone about this and Jack says, "Discretion, John."
Kate the Criminal
Sawyer gives Michael a bottle of something for his stomach. "Thought you might need that, boss," Sawyer says. "Wouldn't want our pilot out of commission before take-off."Michael asks if he's feeling guilty and tells Sawyer that Sawyer is off the raft. Sawyer says they had a deal and Michael says, "That was before you poisoned me." He goes on to say that Sawyer steals stuff off of dead bodies and that he's a criminal.
"Oh, I'm a criminal, huh?" Sawyer says. "I poisoned you because I'm a criminal?"
Sawyer goes to Kate and grabs her by the arm, dragging her over to Michael. He dumps her bag out and shows them the license. "You all remember Joanna, don't you?" Sawyer asks. "The woman who drowned?"
Sawyer hands the license to Michael. "Now what's Kate doing with poor Joanna's ID?" Sawyer tells them that the Marshal was escorting Kate and that she would do anything to get off this island.
