Locke's Flashback - Dialysis
Locke pulls up to the gate at Cooper's house. He's now on a first name basis with Eddie, the guard. Eddie asks if they are shooting birds today and Locke says they are.When he goes in the house he finds his father hooked up to a dialysis machine. "You weren't supposed to be here until noon," Anthony says.
Locke says, "I thought you said eleven. What is this?"
Anthony explains that he needs a kidney transplant. He's on a waiting list, but it's a long list. The dialysis will work for awhile and he didn't want to tell Locke and put a damper on their day.
Probably Not a Priest
Locke and Boone examine the body. He is wearing a priest's robe. Boone wonders how long he's been dead and Locke thinks between two and ten years. He has gold teeth, so Locke knows he's well off. He also finds a wad of bills and tells Boone it's Nigerian naira."What is a Nigerian priest doing on an island in the South Pacific?" Boone asks.
Locke pulls a gun out of the robe. "I'm not so sure he's a priest."
Jack Runs Tests on Sawyer
Sawyer is very uncomfortable with his headaches and Kate insists that he see Jack.Jack asks when the headaches started and Sawyer says a couple of days ago. He wants Kate to leave, but she doesn't.
Jack asks several questions, but before long his questions turn to sexually transmitted disease. Sawyer leaves and Kate says she knows he deserved it, but, and Jack cuts her off to say that Sawyer needs glasses.
Locke Confesses
Locke continues to struggle through the jungle. Boone asks if he's okay and he says it's just the shrapnel wound. Boone points out that the shrapnel was in his right leg and he's limping with his left. Boone suggests they go back and see Jack. Locke says that Jack wouldn't know what's wrong with him. He falls.
"John, we've got to-"
"No, no, no."
Boone wants to know if Locke is crazy and Locke admits to being in a wheelchair before they came to the island. Boone asks why, but Locke says it doesn't matter anymore.
"But this island," Locke says, "it changed me. It made me whole. Now it's trying to take it back and I don't know why. But it wants me to follow what I saw."
Locke's Flashback - Bird Hunting
Locke and his father are hunting and Anthony is explaining how to shoot a bird. Locke shoots one easily and Anthony congratulates him. "John," Anthony says, "your mother, she may be a little crazy, but at least she brought us together. Thank God it happened now, while we still have time. Let's find your bird."Theresa
Locke has his arm around Boone's shoulder. Boone is half carrying him, then lets him down for a rest. "She was my nanny," Boone says. "Theresa. My mother wasn't around much. I needed someone to take it out on. My bedroom was at the top of this huge flight of stairs, and I would sit in bed all day calling her on the intercom. One day she took a bad step. Broke her neck. I was six."Locke begins to laugh almost uncontrollably. Boone grabs Locke by the collar and asks what's so funny. Locke points and Boone turns around to see a small plane, hanging off a cliff, suspended in the trees.
Boone asks if it's the plane from Locke's dream. "As best I can tell," Locke says. Boone wants to know how long it's been there, but Locke says it doesn't matter. "What's important is that we found it. What's important is what's inside it."
"What is inside of it, John?"
"You're going to have to climb up there for us to find out."
