Jin Hits Rocks
Hurley finds Jin hitting rocks with a golf club.Hurley says, "You should try sea urchin. They've got more ping."He chats some more, even though Jin can't understand him. He produces two fishing poles, but Jin isn't interested and keeps hitting rocks, so Hurley leaves.
Will Shannon's Knots Hold?
Sayid and Shannon flirt as they work on the raft. Shannon asks if her knots will hold and Sayid says, "Do you have a past in the Navy you neglected to tell me about?" He asks how she learned to tie such perfect knots and her answer is that she's dated guys with sailboats. Sayid doesn't seem overly excited by that news.Shannon suggests that they get some rope, "spend a Saturday night alone together, and see what happens."
Later, at the raft, Michael tells Walt that he is going to love New York because of the buildings. Walt doesn't seem so sure and asks if he can go play with Vincent.
Jack tells Michael that he's making good progress with the raft. Michael shows him around, saying, "Got some bamboo for the decking. Got a piece of the fuselage for a cabin, some storage bins."
Jack says that people are wondering who will be going on the raft. Michael says there is only room for four and there is only one spot left. Jack asks who the other spot went to.
Sawyer walks up and says, "What's the matter, doc? Feeling left out?" He hands Michael some cable and says he bought a ticket on the raft.
The Raft On Fire!
That night Sun and Kate are in a tent. Kate asks her how much longer she is going to let Jin treat her this way and Sun says she wouldn't understand. Sun says that Jin wasn't always like this, but before they can talk further, they are interrupted by commotion outside. The raft is on fire! Locke stands by watching while everyone else tries to put out the fire with sand.
Michael sees Sun and says, "Where is he?"
Jack points out that they don't know that Jin did it, but Michael and Sawyer are both convinced that Jin started the fire. The raft is destroyed.
Did Jin Burn the Raft?
Jin rifles through Jack's makeshift medicine cabinet. Sun wants to know what he's doing and he says he's hurt. She sees that his hands are burned. "You did it?" Sun asks, but he doesn't answer. "Michael was trying to get us off this island.""Michael?" Jin leaves.
