Sawyer's Flashback - Young Sawyer

An eye opens and we see it is the eye of a little boy, the young Sawyer. Someone is pounding on a door and his mother rushes in and says, "He's here." She tells him to get under the bed so that "he" will think Sawyer is still at his grandparent's house.

She begs him not to make a sound no matter what he hears, tells him she loves him, then hurries out, shutting the door behind her.

Sawyer's dad is in the house now, yelling at his mother. We hear yelling, a gunshot, then silence. Young Sawyer scoots further back under his bed. His door opens and from under the bed we see a pair of cowboy boots walk in. The man sits on the bed. Another gunshot and the man slumps over on the bed.

Sawyer's Boar

Sawyer wakes with a start. He seems relieved, yet weary, until he realizes that something is rummaging around in his tarp. He grabs the flashlight and shines it on an enormous boar. He yells and swings at the boar, who easily escapes, dragging the tarp that was Sawyer's roof with him.

Sawyer runs into the jungle after the boar, but can't catch up. On his way back to the beach, Sawyer hears whisperings in the jungle.

"It'll come back around."
Later, Sawyer cleans up his tarp area that was messed by the boar. Sayid, very amused, asks about the boar and the tarp, and makes a joke about the boar wanting to go camping. "I thought the boar had vacated this area," Sayid says.

"Well, genius," Sawyer says, "I think we got some bad info."

Sayid walks away, but Sawyer stops him to ask about the whispers Sayid had heard in the jungle after leaving Rousseau. Sayid says he was injured and exhausted and his mind was playing tricks. "Why?" he asks. "Did you hear something?"

Sawyer says, "Forget it. I didn't hear anything."

Sawyer's Flashback - Hibbs

Sawyer comes into a hotel room carrying a woman. The light goes on and a man is sitting in a chair. He says, "Okay, this is really awkward, but if I don't say something now, things are liable to get downright embarrassing.

"Hibbs," Sawyer says. Sawyer sends the woman down to the bar to get a drink. When she's gone, Sawyer grabs Hibbs and pins him against the wall. "Now if I'm not mistaken," Sawyer says, "I'm fairly certain I said I'd kill you if I ever saw you again."

"That's why I'm here," Hibbs says, "to make things right. Besides, we both know you ain't the killing type." He pulls an envelope from his pocket and throws it on the table. "Here. I figure that makes us even for the Tampa job."

Sawyer wonders what could possibly make them even for the Tampa job and Hibbs says, "How about the known whereabouts of the man that ruined your life?" Hibbs says that one of the guys he's working with spoke of a man who was talking about his glory days. "Frank Duckett runs a shrimp truck in Sydney. Turns out he used to be quite the hustler. He ran the romance angle, hooked the wife and took the husband for all the money. Frank Duckett used to go by Frank Sawyer."

Kate Returns Her Gun

Kate gives Jack the gun and ammo she had used for the Ethan mission. She wonders if anyone was curious as to how they all of the sudden had guns and Jack said that they all knew there was a Marshal on the plane and probably just assumed they were his.

Kate asks if Jack got all the guns back. "All but one." Kate says she can get Sawyer's gun back because she knows how to speak his language. Jack doesn't like the idea of Kate owing Sawyer anything.

Sulking Charlie

Charlie is working on something and Claire approaches. Without looking at her, he asks how she's feeling. "Very pregnant," she says. She also says that she had some dreams that were more like memories and Charlie was in them. She asks if he wants to go for a walk, but he blows her off, saying he is busy.
