Scott and Steve
Hurley tells Jack that they walked the entire perimeter and found nothing. Everyone was asleep. "So, I had an idea," Hurley says. "I'm out here looking for some psycho with Scott and Steve, right? And I'm realizing, who the hell are Scott and Steve?"Hurley says they need a master list of who is on the island. "We don't even know each other," he says.
"My name isn't Hurley. It's Hugo Reyes. Hurley's just a nickname I have, alright? Why? I'm not telling. Point is, we've got to find out who everyone is."
Jack asks Hurley if he really wants to start a census and Hurley says yes, "it seems like someone is getting punched or stabbed or something every single day here."
Charlie Cares for Claire
Charlie drapes a blanket over Claire and encourages her to sleep. "I won't leave you, Claire," he promises.Claire's Flashback - Bye, Thomas
Claire's pregnancy is showing clearly now as she puts up drapes. She and Thomas have an argument and he accuses her of getting pregnant to trap him. Claire points out that he was the one who said they could handle it. He ends up leaving her.Locke Found
Hurley approaches Locke and Locke asks, "Is this about your census?" He tells Hurley that he lived in Tustin, California and that he went to Australia looking for something."Right on," Hurley says and writes it down. "Did you find it?"
"It found me."
Claire's Attack - Real or Imagined?
Kate, Jack, and Charlie walk along the beach. Jack doesn't think anyone attacked Claire, which makes Charlie angry. He thinks Jack is accusing Claire of making it up. Jack explains that pregnant women have very lucid anxiety nightmares. Jack is worried that all the stress will bring on early labor.Meanwhile, Hurley approaches Ethan in the jungle and calls him Lance. He says, no, that his name is Ethan Rom and he is from Ontario.
At the caves, Jack brings Claire a sedative. She gets upset and storms off, saying she's going back to the beach. Charlie sees and asks Jack what he said to her.
Claire's Flashback - Danger Surrounds The Baby
Claire knocks on a door and the same psychic, Richard Malkin, answers. She gives him more money and begs him to do her reading."It is crucial," Mr. Malkin says, "that you raise this child yourself."
She says that Thomas left her and he says that it doesn't matter. "Danger surrounds this child. Your nature, your spirit, your goodness must be an influence." He gets very agitated when Claire says she's giving the baby up for adoption.
He gives Claire her money back and insists that she keep the baby. Claire leaves, but for months he calls her, telling her she must raise the baby herself. The night before she is going to the adoption agency, he calls and says he has a plan for her, but she hangs up on him.
Manifest
Claire is in the jungle and Charlie catches up with her to ask if she's okay. "I'm not crazy," she says.On the beach, Hurley asks Shannon and Boone questions for his census. Shannon is annoyed.
"You want my information?" Shannon says. "Name, Shannon Rutherford. Age, 20. Address, Craphole Island."Hurley asks where they were last night and Boone wonders why. Hurley tells them what happened to Claire.
Boone tells Hurley he should use the manifest that Claire used to read off the names at the memorial service. Hurley asks who has it and Boone answers with, "Who do you think?"
Hurley goes to Sawyer and says, "I'm just going to lay it out straight. I hear you have the flight manifest, and I need it and I want you to give it to me."
"Well, gosh, you sure know how to butter a man up, Stay Puft," Sawyer says and hands it over.
Labor
Charlie follows Claire through the jungle. She asks why, and he says that he likes her."You don't like me, Charlie, you just want to rescue me," she says. Then she gasps and grabs her stomach.
"We need to time the contractions," Charlie says.
Charlie counts, "One sugar plum fairy, two sugar plum fairy."
"Get Jack!" Claire says.
"Just listen to me. I'm not going to let anything happen to you. I might not know what I'm doing, but I'll figure it out. If I can kick drugs, I can deliver a baby. Let me explain. I'm a drug addict. I was a drug addict. I'm clean now."
Claire yells, "Get Jack!"
"Right," Charlie says and runs off.
