A young girl listens to a record, dances around her room, and puts on lipstick. Her mother comes in and says, "Where do you think you're going?"
"Out," she says.
"With who? Him?"
"Yes," the girl says, "and you can't stop me. I'm in love."
"He's twice your age, Emily."
"So what, Mom, are you jealous?" She takes her purse and sweater and walks out.
"Emily, wait a minute."
Emily goes out of the house into the rain and her mother yells after her. "Emily, get back here, young lady!"
"You can't stop me! I love him!" She goes across the street and is hit by a car.
She wakes in the hospital as she is being wheeled down the hallway. She tells the nurse that she is almost 6 months pregnant.
They deliver the baby and put him in an incubator. Emily says, "My baby."
The nurse says, "It's a boy, honey. He's okay for now, he's just really early."
"Can I hold him?"
"I'm sorry, sweetheart, he's just too little. We have to take him away now."
"Name him, John. Please, his name is John!"
Where's the Cabin?
Locke and Hurley walk through the jungle at night. "Who builds a cabin in the middle of the jungle, anyway?""That's a good question."
"So, how about answering it?"
"I don't know," Locke says. Ben tromps along behind them.
"Then why are we even going there?" Hurley asks.
"Because, hopefully," Locke says, "the man who lives in the cabin can tell us about the people who are trying to kill us."
"We've been walking all day. Are we going to get there soon?"
Locke turns to Ben. "How long?"
"I don't know," Ben says. "I've been following him." He points to Hurley.
"What?" Locke says. "What do you mean you've been following him?"
"I'm not even in front," Hurley says.
"I have no idea where the cabin is," Ben says. "Hugo's the last one who saw it."
"Oh this is just awesome," Hurley says.
Ben says, "What do you think we should do, John?"
Locke looks at them both and then says, "We're making camp."
Ben nods and walks off.
Hurley says, "What? Here in the dark with the monster and him?" He indicates Ben.
"The rest will do us good."
"Dude, what's going to happen when those freighter guys come back?"
"I don't know. Yet." He pats Hurley on the shoulder.
Who Gave Keamy Up?
On the freighter, Sayid hears the helicopter and wakes Desmond. "Desmond," he says, "the helicopter is here."They go down the hallway and onto the deck. Keamy and his men are taking the injured man out of the helicopter. Doctor Ray says, "What did this to him?"
"Black pillar of smoke, threw him 50 feet in the air," Keamy says. "Ripped his guts out."
Sayid and Desmond walk over. Keamy walks up to Sayid and says, "I need you to tell me exactly how many people are on that island and where every single one of them is."
"And why would I do that?" Sayid says.
Captain Gault walks over and says, "Keamy! What the hell do you think you're doing, mate?"
Keamy pulls a gun and puts it into the captain's neck. "You give me up?"
"What?"
"Linus knew who I was. He knew my name. He knew everything about me."
"No," Captain Gault says, "I'm not the one who gave you up."
"Then who did?"
Sayid puts his head down.
The captain and Keamy go down the hall and into Michael's room. Michael is chained to a pipe. Keamy kicks the bed so that it falls on Michael's legs. He stomps on the bed. "Do you know who I am?"
"What?"
Keamy kicks him. "My name. Do you know my name?"
"Keamy. Martin Keamy."
"Did you give it to him?"
"Who?" Michael asks.
"Benjamin Linus. Did you give him my name?"
"Yeah."
Keamy points his gun at Michael's head and Captain Gault tells him to wait. Keamy pulls the trigger, but nothing happens. He pulls it several more times, but it just clicks.
"Martin, we need him," the captain says. "He's the only one that can fix the engines."
"And what makes you so sure about that?" Keamy asks.
"Because he's the one who broke them."
Keamy looks at Michael, then knocks him out.
Horace Goodspeed
Locke wakes in the jungle to the sounds of someone chopping wood. Hurley and Ben are still asleep. Locke goes over to investigate. The man is cutting down a tree. He topples the tree and then turns to Locke. "Hello, there."“Who are you?” Locke asks.
“I’m Horace. Phew," he says and wipes his face with a hanky.
"What are you doing out here?"
"Building a place. A little getaway for me and the misses. No, I mean, sometimes you need a break from the D.I. you know? The Dharma Initiative?" Horace laughs. "I’m not making any sense am I?”
“No,” Locke replies.
Horace turns around and when he turns back his nose is bleeding. “That’s probably because I’ve been dead for 12 years.” He topples another tree. "Hello, there."
Locke looks up and sees a familiar looking tree.
"You've got to find me, John, you've got to find me. And when you do, you'll find him."
"Who?"
"Jacob. He's been waiting for you a real long time." Horace goes back to chopping a tree. "I'm Horace. Goodspeed, John."
Locke wakes. He's in the jungle. Hurley is still asleep, Ben is sitting up. Locke shakes Hurley. "Hugo."
"Mallomars," Hurley mumbles.
"Wake up, Hugo," Locke says. "Time to get up. We have to get going."
"I thought we didn't know where we were going, dude."
"We do now." Locke looks at Ben.
"I used to have dreams," Ben says.
