Flash Forwards in Italics.

Kate sits on the shore. She sees Jack in the camp and waves. He smiles and waves. He's holding his back and goes into a shelter.

Jack opens a prescription bottle and takes out a couple of pills. Kate comes in and says, "You got a prescription for that?"

Jack chuckles. "Yeah, I wrote it myself." He sits.

"You look terrible."

He thanks her and takes the pills with a swig of water.

"What are those?" she asks.

"Antibiotics, I just got a stomach bug."

"You should eat some crackers. Crackers always make me feel better." They both laugh. "Why aren't they back from the boat yet, Jack?"

"Sayid said the engines were down. My guess is they're trying to fix it, wondering why the hell they can't get in touch with us."

"And you're not worried?"

"My gut says we're getting off this island."

"I thought your gut was sick."

They hear Vincent barking and Bernard yelling for help. They run to the beach and pull someone from the ocean.

They carry the body onto shore. Jack turns him over. His throat is slit. Charlotte and Daniel look at each other. Jack asks if they know him.

Daniel says, "He was on our boat. He's the doctor."

It's All a Game

"We're all going to die," Hurley says.

"Calm down, Chicken Little," Sawyer says. "The sky ain't falling just yet."

"This is exactly what he wants," Hurley says. "To fight amongst ourselves. You're making a big mistake, Dude."

"It's his mistake, Hugo," Locke says. The three look at each other. "Let's get on with it," Locke says.

"Right," Sawyer says. "I'm attacking Siberia."

Locke, Sawyer, and Hurley are playing a board game. Hurley holds Aaron on his lap. Hurley and Sawyer roll. Sawyer laughs and says, "Sorry."

Hurley says, "I can't believe you're just giving him Australia. Australia's the key to the whole game."

Sawyer laughs. "Says you."

The Security Fence

Alex is blindfolded and her hands are tied together. A group of men lead her through the jungle. One man tells her to get on her knees, and when she does, they pull off her blindfold. She is at the security fence and the man tells her to turn it off.

"Please," Alex says, "there's a baby with them. Just promise you won't-"

The man cocks his gun. He puts the gun to the back of her head. "Turn the fence off!"

Alex presses four buttons. "Okay, it's off."

The Phone

A phone rings and Locke, Sawyer, and Hurley turn to look at it. Locke walks over and reluctantly picks up the phone. A recorded voice repeats, "14J."

"Who is it?" Hurley asks.

"I think it's for Ben," Locke says.

In another house, Locke and Sawyer find Ben playing the piano. "What's code 14J?" Locke asks.

Ben looks scared and says, "Where did you hear that?"

"The phone rang, I picked it up, the voice kept repeating, 'Code 14J.'"

Ben gets off the piano seat, opens it, and pulls out a shot gun. He hands it to Sawyer and says, "We need to get to the other house, it's easier to fortify and we'll have better position on the tree lines."

"What are you talking about?" Locke asks.

Ben says, "They're here," and hurries out the door.

Ben's Flash Forward - The Sahara

Ben shakes his head vigorously and then opens his eyes, panting. He's laying on the desert floor in a thick Dharma parka. He sits up. He's in the Sahara Desert. He gets to his hands and knees, then throws up. There is a gash in his parka.

Two men ride up on horses. They yell at him in a foreign language and point guns at him. They speak to each other. Ben puts up his hands, "Wait, I can explain. Do you speak English?" Ben begins speaking in another language. One man gets off his horse and wants Ben to take off the parka. He pats Ben down.

Ben pulls a rod out of his pocket, and quickly turns and hits the man behind him. He manages to get the man in a choke hold and get control of the gun, which he points at the man on the horse and shoots. He turns the gun on the other man who says, "Surrender, surrender!"

"Oh, so you do speak English," Ben says. He knocks the man out. He takes some cloth from one of the men and wraps it around his arm. He gets on a horse and rides away.
