'The Other Woman' Recap

Part 4

By , About.com Guide

Charles Widmore

Ben, hands tied, is led by Locke to the living room. "No tricks," Locke says. "You're not leading me out into the jungle so you can disappear or shoot me in the back."

"No tricks, John, we don't even have to leave the living room."

"So let's have it."

"We have a deal, right?"

"How do I know you're not going to run off and join your people the first chance you get?"

Ben scoffs. "If my people still wanted me, John, they would have stormed this camp long ago. It's behind that picture."

Locke moves the picture to reveal a wall safe. Ben says, "36, 15, 28."

Locke does the combination and opens the safe. He pulls out a VHS tape labeled Red Sox. "Red Sox?"

"I taped over the game."

Locke puts the tape into the VCR. After static, they see a black car. A man opens the door and Charles Widmore gets out.

"This is Charles Widmore. This is the man whose boat is parked offshore. This is the man who's been trying to find the island."

On the tape the man brings out a blindfolded man.

"Who's the man in the blindfold?" Locke asks.

"One of my people who had the misfortune of getting caught."

"How does Widmore know about the island?"

"I don't know, but he does."

"What does he want?" Locke asks.

"John, three months ago in Gainesville, Florida, the Virgin Mary seemed to appear in a patch of mold on the side of an old housing complex. When the word got out, over 5000 people came to see her face for themselves. You survived an airline crash on this island. One minute you're in a wheelchair, the next minute you're doing jumping jacks. If 5000 people came out to see a piece of mold, how many people do you think would come out to see you? Charles Widmore wants to exploit this island and he'll do everything in his power to possess it."

On the tape, Charles beats the blindfolded man and then looks up at the camera. The picture goes to static.

Ben goes to the safe and gets out a file. "Everything I know about Charles Widmore is in this file. Some of it's vague, some of it's guesswork, and some of it's concrete. But this is everything and now it's all yours. I'm sorry I didn't tell you all this sooner. It was the only bargaining chip I had."

"There's one more thing I need to know. Your man on the boat, I want you to tell me who it is."

"Alright, but you might want to sit down."

They Know

Kate follows the trail. "She came through here. So did they, about half an hour ahead of her."

"What happened?" Jack asks.

"I'm sorry?"

"At Locke's, why did you stay?"

"I stayed because I had to find something out."

"You going to tell me or are we going to keep walking through the jungle like it doesn't matter?"

She stops. "I stayed to find out if the people on the freighter know who I am. If they knew that I'm a fugitive. That I'm wanted for murder."

"Do they?"

"Yeah, they know."

Jack looks upset.

The Tempest

Juliet runs up to a station. She sees some wires have been cut. She grabs a pulley system to open the door. She puts down her pack, pulls her gun, and walks in.

Dinner Party

Ben opens his door and then excitedly runs into the kitchen. "Sorry, I have to get this ham out of the oven or it will dry out."

"Please, don't mind me," Juliet says. She's holding dinner rolls. "How are you feeling, by the way?"

"Never better," he says, and pulls the ham out of the oven.

"Smells delicious." She looks at the table with two place settings. "Ben, I thought this was a dinner party."

"Just you and me," he says. "Oh, I guess I should have made that clearer."

"No, it's fine. I hope you like dinner rolls."

"I do indeed."

As Ben carves the ham he says, "I want to thank you for how wonderful you've been with Zack and Emma."

"They're really sweet kids. Ben, they've been asking about their mother in Los Angeles. I'm not really sure what to say."

"They'll stop asking in time."

"They're children. Do they really belong here?"

"They're on the list, Juliet. Who are we to question who is on the list and who's not."

"Now that we have everyone on the list from the tail section, what about Goodwin? He's been undercover for three weeks."

Ben forces a smile. "He's making a case for this woman, Ana-Lucia. Thinks she'd be a valuable member of our society, but between you and me, I don't see it. He feels very passionately about her, almost inappropriately so."

"After losing Ethan, it's a risk."

"Goodwin stays where he's at right now, Juliet. There's no reason for him to hurry back, right? But his assignment will be over soon. I promise you."
