Sorry, Dude
The group goes into Ben's house and Sayid says, "Look for anything that might show where they've gone. I'll start in here."Miles goes a different way, and Kate yet another way. Kate goes into Ben's bedroom and looks around. She opens the closet. It's empty.
Sayid looks at books and notices the book case has scratched the floor where it has been moved. He moves it to reveal a room. He draws his gun and finds the light switch. In the room are some nice clothes, a suitcase, money from different companies, and several passports with Ben's photo.
Kate looks under the bed and sees someone walk in. She stands up. It's Sawyer. He shushes her, but she calls for Sayid. He throws down the passport and runs out of the room. Locke is standing there with a gun trained on Sayid.
"Don't worry," Locke says, "Kate's fine."
Rousseau has a gun on Miles. Hurley walks in and Locke says, "Good job, Hugo."
"Sorry, Dude," Hurley says to Sayid.
Running Out of Jail Space
Sayid walks out of Ben's house, followed by Rousseau, who has a rifle on him. Hurley walks behind her."Sorry, Sayid," Rousseau says, "it's nothing personal."
"Where's Locke?" Sayid asks.
"He's talking to that angry Chinese guy," Hurley says.
"I'm not going to hurt you, Hurley," Sayid says.
"Yeah. I saw you snap that guy's neck with that break dancing thing you do with your legs. Think I'll hang back here."
They put Sayid in the game room where Kate had previously been held. Ben is in there.
"Well," Ben says, "I guess they're running out of jail space."
Sayid walks around and shakes the bars on the windows.
"I lost a dollar, you know," Ben says.
"How'd you manage that?"
"I bet John that you wouldn't be stupid enough to fall for your friend as bait."
"What do you know about friendship?"
"I know it's no use having friends you can't trust."
Play House
Kate looks out a window. She walks over to the bed and sits down. "So what, I'm your prisoner?""If that sort of thing turns you on."
Kate is not amused. "What are you doing here with Locke?" she asks.
"I'm not with him."
"Yeah you are, James."
"And what are you doing with Jack?"
"I went with Jack because I believe he can get us off this island."
"Well I guess that's the difference between us. I ain't looking to leave."
"Why not?"
"Because I ain't got nothing back there for me."
"And what's here that's so much better?"
"Why do you want to go back, Kate? I seem to recall you being shuttled off to jail before we landed here. So if you think there's anything waiting for you back home other than handcuffs, then you really don't know how the world works. Look around us, Freckles, we got roofs over our heads, electricity, showers, beds."
"How long, Sawyer? How long do you think we can play house?"
"Why don't we find out?"
Iced Tea
Rousseau opens the door and Locke walks in with a pitcher and two glasses. "Iced tea. Thought you might be thirsty," he tells Sayid."I'm thirsty," Ben says.
Locke pours himself and Sayid a glass and then pulls up a chair and sits. He says, "I'm sorry about all the theatrics, but I didn't know how many of you there'd be or whether you'd be armed. I had to cover my bases."
"What have you done with Kate and Miles?"
"Kate is with Sawyer, and Miles is somewhere else." Locke takes a drink. "He's fine. All I did was ask him some questions."
"Did he answer any?"
"No."
"Did you have more luck with the woman you captured?"
"Not particularly."
"Then why don't you turn her over to me?"
"Why would I do that?"
"I agree that these people are liars and they're certainly not here to rescue us. But if I return safely with Charlotte, they'll take me to their ship. It's our best chance of finding out who they are and what they really want."
"Well then," Locke gets up, "I can save you a lot of trouble, Sayid, because Ben says he's got a spy on the boat."
"Who?"
"It's a secret," Ben says.
"Forgive me," Sayid says, "but the day I start trusting him is the day I would have sold my soul. Give me Charlotte. Allow me to do things my way or a war is coming which I'm sure we will both be powerless to stop."
"Why would I give you Charlotte for nothing?"
"Oh, I think you misunderstood me. I never expected you to give her to me for nothing."
