Episode 4x1, The Beginning of the End
Desmond returns to the beach and wants to warn Jack that the people on the freighter aren't who they say they are. Sayid doesn't want to warn him over the walkie-talkie, because he believes the freighter people are monitoring their communications and he doesn't want them to be tipped off.Sawyer disagrees and wants to call Jack. Sawyer has the walkie-talkie and says he's going to use it, but before he can, Hurley grabs it and throws it into the ocean.
As they walk through the jungle to find Jack, Sawyer asks Hurley if he wants to talk about Charlie's death, but Hurley says no.
After all the groups meet up and some decide to go with Locke to the Barracks and others decide to stay with Jack and try to get rescued, Sawyer goes with Locke, even though Kate doesn't want him to.
Episode 4x2, Confirmed Dead
Ben baits Karl and Sawyer, and then Sawyer beats him. Locke won't let him kill Ben and Sawyer says that he'll be sorry.Later, when Ben shoots Charlotte, Sawyer says that he told Locke so. He wants to kill Ben, but Locke wants to do it himself.
Episode 4x3, The Economist
Sawyer wants to shoot Ben's toes off until he gives up the name of his spy on the boat, but Locke won't let him.When Locke's group takes Sayid and Miles captive, Sawyer keeps Kate in Ben's bedroom. He admits to wanting to stay on the island with her.
Episode 4x4, Eggtown
Sawyer wants to kick Hurley out and have Kate move in with him, but she won't. She won't tell him her agenda for being at the Barracks either.Later, Kate comes to Sawyer and says that she wants to use him for something. While Sawyer gets Locke out of the house, Kate gets Miles into the basement to see Ben.
After Locke kicks Kate out, she ends up in bed with Sawyer. He is relieved to find out she's not pregnant. They get into a fight and Sawyer says she'll be back in about a week after she finds a reason to be mad at Jack. Kate slaps him and then walks out.
Episode 4x8, Meet Kevin Johnson
Sawyer wants to hand Ben over to the freighter people, but Ben says that once they do that, the freighter people will kill everyone on the island.Later, Sawyer confronts Locke about not telling everyone about the money Ben promised to Miles. Locke says that he didn't think it was worth mentioning since there are no banks on the island.
Episode 4x9, The Shape of Things to Come
Sawyer plays a board game with Locke and Hurley. When the phone rings, Locke picks it up and then he and Sawyer go tell Ben that the message said, "14J." Ben says it's an early warning signal and they need to get to his house and hunker down.Sawyer goes to get Claire from her house and is shot at. He's about to get to her house when it blows up! He finds Claire and carries her to Ben's house, but they won't let him in. Hurley breaks a window so that Sawyer can get Claire inside.
Ben says that the people there are trying to get to him and Sawyer wants to give him up, but Locke won't let him.
After the smoke monster attacks Keamy's men, Sawyer wants to take Claire and the baby back to the beach instead of going to Jacob's cabin with Locke and Ben. Miles says he'll go with Sawyer, and Sawyer says that Hurley will too, but Locke says Hurley has to come with he and Ben to Jacob's cabin.
Sawyer defends Hurley, but Hurley says it's okay, that he'll go with Locke.
Episode 4x10, Something Nice Back Home
Sawyer continues to protect Claire as they hike through the jungle on their way back to the beach. He catches Miles staring at her and tells him he has a restraining order and to keep 20 feet away from her.They stop when Miles hears something. Miles digs up the faces of Rousseau and Karl.
When they come across Frank, Frank tells them that Keamy is coming and they have to hide. Sawyer is ready with his gun, but Frank is able to get Keamy to leave the area.
After sleeping in the jungle, Sawyer wakes to see that Claire is gone. Miles says she left in the middle of the night with someone she called Dad. Sawyer asks why Miles let her go alone and Miles says it was because of the restraining order. Sawyer hears Aaron cry and finds him in the jungle. He yells for Claire, but hears nothing.
Episode 4x12, There's No Place Like Home Part 1
Sawyer and Miles come upon Kate and Jack, and Sawyer realizes that he now has to explain to them what happened with Claire. Jack sends Kate back to the beach with Aaron, so Sawyer goes with Jack.They find Frank handcuffed to the helicopter and he says that he dropped the phone so that they would find him and he could fly them out of there before Keamy's men do whatever they are going to do to Ben and the island. Sawyer says that Hurley is with Ben, and Jack and Sawyer go after him.
Episode 4x13, There's No Place Like Home Part 2
Sawyer and Jack get Hurley from the Orchid and return to the helicopter. They fly off the island, but they discover they have a gas leak and Frank tells them to throw out everything that is not bolted down. Sawyer whispers to Kate and then jumps out and swims to the island.He sees Juliet, who points out that the freighter has gone up in smoke.
