316 Off-Island Information
In The Lamppost Station, Eloise gives Jack a binder of airline flights and explains that a clever fellow figured out how to determine where the island is going to be at specific times. She tells Jack the flight they need to be on in order to be in the window and get back to the island. She says that they need to recreate, as best they can, the original flight.Desmond says that Eloise ruined four years of his life and he can't believe that they are willingly going back to the island. She says the island isn't done with him yet and he says that he is done with the island.
Eloise pulls Jack aside and tells him that Locke is acting as a proxy for his father and Jack needs to get something of his father's for Locke. She gives Jack Locke's suicide note.
Jack goes to see his grandfather and finds a pair of his father's shoes there. Jack takes the shoes.
Ben asks Jack to pick up Locke's body at the butcher shop. Jack puts his father's shoes on Locke and tucks the suicide note in Locke's clothing saying he's already heard everything Locke had to say.
Jack goes home and finds Kate on his bed. She says that she is going with him to the island and he asks where Aaron is. She tells him never to ask about Aaron again.
Jack meets Sun at the airport and sees Kate. He also sees Sayid being escorted through security. Then he meets up with Hurley and they board the plane. Hurley freaks out when Ben boards, but Jack tells him that this is how it has to be. The flight attendant gives Jack the suicide note, saying they found it when they scanned his cargo.
Jack asks Ben what is going to happen to the other people on the plane and Ben says, "Who cares?"
Jack talks to Kate and then goes to talk to Frank when he realizes Frank is piloting the plane. Finally, he reads Locke's note, which says, "I wish you had believed me."
They hit turbulence, see the light and hear the hum.
316 Island Highlights
Jack opens his eyes. He's on the island. He hears Hurley calling for help and jumps in a lagoon to help Hurley. He sees Kate by the water and rolls her over and calls her name. She opens her eyes. She wonders where the others are.Jack says they should split up and look for people from the plane. A new looking Dharma bus drives up and Jin, wearing a Dharma jump suit, gets out.
