Desmond wakes in the jungle after the hatch implosion with no clothes on. He finds Hurley and asks for some clothes, then the two head to camp.Episode 3x4, Every Man For Himself
Desmond offers to fix the roof on Claire's shelter and suggests she and Aaron clear out for awhile. Claire doesn't want to because Aaron is sleeping. Desmond then borrows a golf club and builds a big tower with the club on top. Later it starts to rain and lightening strikes the club.Episode 3x5, The Cost of Living
Desmond says that the computer in the hatch may be linked to the other stations and communication might be established. He goes with Locke and some others to the Pearl Station.At the Pearl Station, they see a man with an eye patch on one of the screens.

Desmond sees the future. After the hatch imploded, he seemed to go back to his previous life and do it again. Penny moved in to his flat and he went to her father to ask her hand in marriage, but was told he was worthless.Desmond decided to marry her anyway, but when he went to buy a ring at a pawn shop, the owner of the shop told him that he's not supposed to buy the ring, he's supposed to have second thoughts, break Penny's heart, enter the sailboat race, and end up on the island pushing the button. She says that's his path and it can't be changed.
Desmond says he can choose what to do, and takes the ring, but doesn't ask Penny to marry him and breaks her heart. Later, he realizes he can change things, but it's too late, he's back on the island.
Back on the island, these flashes of his life continue, as if he can see the future. He tells Charlie that he's been saving him, but that Charlie is going to die.
Episode 3x10, Tricia Tanaka is Dead
Charlie asks Desmond when he is going to die, but Desmond says it doesn't work like that and he doesn't know.Episode 3x12, Par Avion
Desmond is insistent that Charlie go with him boar hunting instead of hanging out with Claire. Later, he shoots his gun when Claire, Jin, and Sun are trying to catch a bird. He says he didn't know they were there and Claire gets very angry at him.Later, he and Charlie argue. When he goes to get a bird, Claire follows him and he confesses that he knew the bird was there because he'd been seeing things happen to Charlie.
Episode 3x14, Expose
Desmond sees Sawyer and Nikki arguing just before she "dies".Episode 3x17, Catch 22
In a flash, Desmond sees himself walking with Charlie, Hurley, and Jin through the jungle in the rain. Charlie steps on a wire and when he lifts his foot up, an arrow is released that punctures Charlie's throat and he dies. Desmond also sees Hurley picking up a cable, something falling from the sky, and Penny.He gets Hurley, Jin, and Charlie to go with him in the jungle, hoping that if he makes the events happen, the final event will be him reuniting with Penny.
He feels bad about taking Charlie out there knowing that he is going to die, but his need to see Penny is strong.
At the last second, Desmond tackles Charlie and the arrow misses him.
They find a woman hanging from parachute gear and Desmond cuts her down, thinking it's Penny. But when he removes her helmet, he sees that she is not Penny, but she says his name.
Episode 3x18, D.O.C.
Desmond promises Mikhail that if Mikhail helps parachute girl, they will let Mikhail go as if he had never been there. Charlie doesn't want to let him go, but Desmond forces him to.Episode 3x19, The Brig
Desmond, Hurley, Jin, and Charlie hide Naomi in Hurley's tent. Hurley and Charlie want to tell Jack, but Desmond convinces them that they shouldn't trust Jack because they don't know what happened to him while he spent the 10 days with the Others.Episode 3x21, Greatest Hits
Desmond goes with a group following Jack out to an open area where Jack tells them that they are going to use dynamite on the Others when the Others come to take the pregnant women.Desmond has one of his flashes and later tells Charlie that he saw Claire and Aaron get into a helicopter that then flew away. But it will only happen if Charlie dies. Charlie asks how he's going to die and Desmond says that he will go into a flooded station and flip a switch and then he will drown.
When Jack tells Sayid that he can't go into the underwater station, The Looking Glass, Charlie volunteers. At first Jack says no, but later lets him go and Desmond volunteers to go with him.
Once they are above the station, Desmond says that he will go, but Charlie knocks Desmond out and dives in.
Episode 3x22, Through the Looking Glass
Desmond wakes in the boat above The Looking Glass. He sits up and someone starts shooting at him. He dives down and finds the moon pool. He comes up in the moon pool and Charlie tells him to hide. He hides in a closet as he watches Bonnie and Greta, and soon Mikhail.After Mikhail shoots Greta and Bonnie, Desmond shoots Mikhail with a spear gun. He is about to shoot Bonnie, but Charlie says they need her for the code.
Charlie goes to turn off the jamming mechanism while Desmond gets some scuba gear together for them to swim out. Charlie yells for Desmond and Desmond sees that Charlie is talking to Penny. Desmond runs for the room, but Charlie locks him out. Mikhail blows the porthole open and water rushes in.
Desmond tries to break the window on the door, but it won't budge. Charlie writes on his hand and holds it up. It says "Not Penny's Boat". Desmond watches as Charlie crosses himself and then stops moving.
