Ben Linus is formerly known as (non)Henry.

Episode 3x1, A Tale of Two Cities

Ben comes out of his house after the tremor and sees the plane break apart in the air. He tells Goodwin to go to the tail section and Ethan to go to the fuselage and act like they were on the plane. He wants a list in three days.

Ben sits at a nice table on the beach. Tom brings Kate in and Ben asks her to put on the handcuffs. He wants to give her a nice meal, because the next two weeks are going to be "very unpleasant".

He shows up after Jack tries to escape and says that if Juliet opens the door Jack is trying to make her open, they will die. When Jack opens it, Ben makes a run for it, slamming the door on Juliet and trapping her inside.

Later, after Juliet gets Jack to agree to eat something, Ben tells her she's done a good job.

Episode 3x2, The Glass Ballerina

Ben tells Juliet that she had never made him soup, after Juliet had made Jack soup. Colleen comes in and acts jealous. She tells Ben that Sayid has a sailboat and Ben seems surprised. He tells Colleen to get a team together.

Later, Ben sits in a room full of TVs watching and listening to Sawyer and Kate.

Ben goes into the room where Jack is being held and says he wants Jack to trust him and if Jack helps them, Ben will let him go home. Ben tells Jack that his name is Benjamin Linus, and he's lived on the island his whole life.

Episode 3x4, Every Man For Himself

Ben gets Juliet to help Colleen, who'd been shot. Later, he goes to Sawyer and beats him up. When Sawyer wakes he is chained to a table and Ben makes him believe they'd put a pacemaker in him and he needs to keep his heart rate under 170.

Ben takes Sawyer to a spot where he can see that they are not on the island the plane had crashed on, but another island a little ways away. Ben admits that they did not put a pacemaker inside Sawyer.

Episode 3x5, The Cost of Living

Ben gives Jack a white shirt and asks him to take a walk with him. Jack tells Ben that he will die very soon because of the tumor on his spine.

Jack goes with Ben to Colleen's funeral. Later, Ben interrupts Juliet talking to Jack and asks to speak to Jack alone. He tells Jack how they had planned to wear him down and make him want to help Ben. Ben tells Jack that he believes in God because two days after he found out he had a fatal spinal tumor, a spinal surgeon fell out of the sky.

Episode 3x6, I Do

Jack looks at Ben's x-rays. He asks Juliet some questions about what she'd written in Ben's file. Jack tells Ben that he needed the surgery yesterday. Ben says he'll give Jack whatever he needs, but Jack says he will not do the surgery.

Later, Jack sees Sawyer and Kate together on one of Ben's monitors. Ben walks up behind Jack and tells him that he's surprised Kate picked Sawyer. Jack tells Ben that he'll do the surgery the following day.

While Jack does the surgery, Tom, Pickett, and Jason look on. Pickett and Jason leave and Pickett says that Jack wasn't even on Jacob's list.

In the operating room, Jack purposely makes a small cut in Ben's kidney sack. He tells Tom that Ben has about an hour to live if Jack doesn't sew it up. He wants to talk to Kate on the walkie-talkie.

Episode 3x7, Not in Portland

Jack waits for Kate and Sawyer to get to safety, while Ben is still on the operating table, his back open. Ben wakes and says that he wants to talk to Juliet alone. While they talk, Juliet cries.

Jack finishes the surgery.

Episode 3x9, Stranger in a Strange Land

Ben's stitches get infected, but Jack doesn't want to help him. He finally does help Ben in exchange for Ben keeping Juliet from being executed.

Episode 3x13, The Man From Tallahassee

Locke sneaks into Ben's bedroom and tells him that he wants to know where the submarine is. Alex comes in and Locke takes her hostage. Locke sends Alex to get Sayid's bag and Ben tells Locke that he knows all about him.

He knows he was in wheelchair for four years. And he knows how Locke came to be in a wheelchair. Ben tells Locke that if he blows up the submarine it will remove the illusion that his people can leave the island and that would be bad for Ben.

After Locke blows up the sub, he realizes that Ben had wanted him to blow it up all along. Ben admits that is true because he was stuck in a tough spot. If he let Jack go, he looked weak. If he killed Jack, his people would not respect him. But Locke made it impossible for Jack to leave and so took care of Ben's problem for him.

Ben takes Locke to a small room where Locke sees that his kidney-stealing daddy is bound and gagged.

Episode 3x14, Expose

In Paulo's flashback, Ben is seen talking to Juliet in The Pearl about convincing Jack to do surgery on him.

Episode 3x16, One of Us

In Juliet's flashbacks, Ben introduces himself when she first comes to the island.

Six months later, after losing another mother-to-be, Juliet says she can't help them and that it's time for her to go home. Ben says that if she stays Jacob will cure Rachel of her recurring cancer. He points out that not a trace of cancer is found in anyone on the island.

Three years later, Juliet finds a tumor on Ben's spine. She accuses him of lying to her about being able to cure cancer. The next day, the plane crashes. Ben and Juliet go to see Mikhail who says that it's Flight 815 with 324 passengers on board.

Ben shows Juliet live footage of her sister Rachel playing with her toddler.

Ben comes up with a plan for Juliet to infiltrate the survivor's beach.
