20. Walt Gives to Shannon
Vincent can't go with Walt on the raft, so he gives him to Shannon to take care of and tells her that Vincent is a good listener if she wants to talk to him about Boone.
19. Charlie Re-Discovers Heroin
On their way to get Claire's baby back, Sayid and Charlie go by the Nigerian plane and Charlie discovers the heroin.
18. Charlie Tosses His Cookies
Working hard to turn over a new leaf for his girlfriend, Lucy, Charlie tries to sell copy machines, but throws up during his presentation due to drug withdrawal.
17. Charlie's Drugs
Locke tells Charlie that if he asks for his drugs back three times, Locke will give them to him. He tells Charlie that he's like a moth. Locke could help him get out of his cocoon, but then he would be too weak to fly. After asking for his drugs a third time, Charlie takes them and throws them into the fire.
16. Sun's Secret is Out
When the raft burns, most people believe Jin is the one who set fire to it. In order to protect Jin, Sun reveals that she speaks English. Jin is hurt and stops talking to Sun.
15. Rousseau Steals the Baby
Rousseau injures Claire and then takes off with the baby. Charlie and Sayid go after her and eventually find her. She thought she could trade the baby for her daughter Alex, but the Others never came.
14. Jack's "Live Together, Die Alone" Speech
Jack tells the survivors that they need to work together, because rescue might not come anytime soon. He says that, "if we can't live together, we're going to die alone."
13. Shannon Shoots Locke
Shannon blames Locke for Boone's death and tries to shoot him. Sayid tackles her just as she fires, so Locke's life is spared.
12. The Baby Kicks
Claire is overjoyed when she feels her baby kick for the first time since the crash after she eats a sea urchin that Jin gives her. She is so happy that she grabs Jin's hand and puts it on her stomach. Jin is extremely embarrassed and tries to pull his hand away.
11. Locke's "Purpose and Reason" Speech
On their way back from The Black Rock, Locke tells Jack that Jack is a man of science. Locke says that he's a man of faith. "Do you really think all this is an accident - that we, a group of strangers survived, many of us with just superficial injuries? Do you think we crashed on this place by coincidence - especially, this place? We were brought here for a purpose, for a reason, all of us. Each one of us was brought here for a reason."
