These are the best scenes from the first season of Lost, not including the most shocking and most creepy scenes, which can be found here: Shocking & Creepy.
10. Jin's Handcuff
Michael and Jin fight (we later learn that Jin thought Michael stole an expensive watch). Sayid and Sawyer break it up and handcuff Jin to a piece of the plane. Later, Michael chops the handcuffs with an axe, and for several days Jin has to live with one side of the cuffs around his wrist.
9. "Guys, Where Are We?"
We're starting to get the picture that this is no ordinary island, and Charlie echoes what we are thinking when he says, "Guys, where are we?"
8. Nigerian Plane
Locke and Boone find a small Nigerian plane that had crashed several years earlier in the jungle. Locke's legs are failing, so Boone climbs up into the plane and finds that it's full of drugs. The plane shifts and falls with Boone inside.
7. Steel in the Jungle
Tracking Claire out in the jungle, Boone decides he wants to go back to camp. Locke tells him to go ahead and tosses the flashlight to Boone. Boone drops the flashlight and it clanks on something metal. Locke examines the ground and says it's steel.
6. Claire's Peanut Butter
Claire decides to stay with the group on the beach, even though Charlie thinks she would be safer at the caves. She agrees to go with him if he can get her some peanut butter. Charlie goes to Hurley, but there is no food left. Charlie goes back to Claire and pretends to eat peanut butter and gets Claire to do the same. Then they move to the caves.
5. Dodging the Plane Wing
Jack and Hurley quickly move Claire out of the way of the falling plane wing. (As a side note, this was Jorge Garcia's (Hurley) favorite Lost scene to shoot.)
4. Kate Sews Jack's Back
Shortly after the crash, Jack and Kate meet and Jack tells her how he only lets fear in for five seconds. He talks her into stitching the gash on his back.
3. Don't Blow Open the Hatch
Just before Locke is about to light the dynamite fuse, Hurley sees that the numbers are on the side of the hatch. He yells, "No! Stop! We can't do this!" He lights the fuse and Hurley tries to stomp it out, yelling, "The numbers are bad!"
2. The Raft Sails Away
As most of the survivors watch from the beach, the raft sails away carrying Sawyer, Jin, Michael, and Walt.
1. An Eye Opens
In the very first scene of the very first episode, we see a closeup of a man's eye as it opens. He is shaken and disoriented. A dog comes out of the jungle and runs by him. We later learn that this is Jack and he and others have survived a plane crash. This was the first of many scenes throughout the series of a closeup on an eye opening.
