Locke
- Mr. Clean: Sawyer asks if Locke is sure that Michael went this way, and Locke wants to know why he asks. "Oh, I don't know, Mr. Clean, I probably would have gone around Mt. Vesuvius." (Ep: 2x11, The Hunting Party)
- Mr. Clean is a brand name of household cleaner from Procter & Gamble, first introduced in 1958, whose mascot, Mr. Clean, is a muscular bald man with an earring.
- Daniel Boone: After Locke finds three of Michael's shell casings. "You boys deaf? I heard at least seven shots. You heard, Daniel Boone, what's your count?"
- Daniel Boone was an American pioneer and hunter in the late 1700s and early 1800s.
- Hoss: Locke wants to know how long before Jack and the others that want the guns arrive at the hatch. "Well, that ain't my problem, Hoss."
- Hoss was a character in Bonanza , a television series on NBC from 1959 to 1973.
- Brutus: Jack asks for the guns, then Locke asks as well. "You too, Brutus?" (Ep: 2x20, Two for the Road)
- Brutus was a Roman patrician and one of Julius Caesar's assassins.
- Tarzan: Locke finds Sawyer in the jungle and says he's looking for him. "Okay, Tarzan, so now that you're back from your blow-up-everything-that-can-get-us-off-the-island tour, how about you tell me why you joined up with the enemy." (Ep: 3x19, The Brig)
- Tarzan is a fictional character whose was raised by apes after his parents died.
- John Boy: Locke locks Sawyer in the brig with Anthony Cooper and Sawyer points his gun at the door. "I'm pointing my gun at you, John Boy." (Ep: 3x19, The Brig)
- Colonel Kurtz: Locke says they need to go to a cabin and Saywer says, "You mind telling us who you're getting your orders from, Colonel Kurtz?" (Ep: 4x2, Confirmed Dead)
- Colonel Kurtz is a character from the 1979 film, Apocalypse Now. During the Vietnam War, Colonel Kurtz, a former member of the United States Army Special Forces had gone insane.
- Johnny: Locke won't let Sawyer kill Ben, and Sawyer says, "It's only a matter of time before he gets us, Johnny." (Ep: 4x2, Confirmed Dead)
- Johnny Boy: "And how is it that you knew when we were, Johnny Boy?" (Ep: 5x4, The Little Prince)
