Synopsis:
(From ABC Television Network) Sawyer discovers just how far his captors will go to thwart any plans of escape he and Kate might have, and Jack is called upon to scrub up in order to save the life of one of the Others. Meanwhile, Desmond's behavior begins to perplex the survivors when he starts construction on an unknown device.Bonnie's thoughts:
Looks like we'll get to see both Jack's group, and the group on the main beach. This is a Sawyer episode, and the title, Every Man for Himself, suggests that Sawyer may try to escape without Kate, only looking out for himself. I expect we'll see in his flashbacks that he was only looking out for himself, but in the end, he'll put Kate ahead of himself. I know, this is Sawyer we're talking about, so we'll see.In his flashbacks, we'll again see Cassidy, the girl who wanted to learn to con, but who was duped by Sawyer and his long con (Ep: 2x13, The Long Con). We'll also see someone named Jason and I think it's worth pointing out that we've heard the name Jason twice before. The first time was in Kate's bank robbery scene (Ep: 1x12, Whatever the Case May Be). Jason was one of the robbers who she shot in the leg. The other Jason, was the man who shot Ana-Lucia, causing her to miscarry. Ana-Lucia later shot and killed him. Will this Jason get shot too? Is he the same Jason as either one of the other Jasons? It's a different actor than the Ana-Lucia Jason, and Kate's Jason was not credited, and he was wearing a hood.
Moving on to Kate. She's asked, "Do you love him?" but I don't know who's asking or who they're asking about. But, Kate and Sawyer will be put through a lot in this episode.
Jack is called upon to scrub up in order to save the life of one of the Others. The obvious person would be Colleen, whom Sun shot (Ep: 3x2, The Glass Ballerina). I think Colleen might have died, though, and the actress, Paula Malcolmson, is not listed in the credits, but that may be because she doesn't have a speaking part. Maybe it's Ben. Maybe Sawyer whoops him and Jack is asked to save him.
Meanwhile, Desmond's behavior begins to perplex the survivors when he starts construction on an unknown device. Is he building mountains out of mash potatoes or what? Does he change his clothes, or is he still wearing Hurley's tie-died shirt?
