Guide Review - The Lost Lowdown Podcast

After each new Lost episode, Claude, a film school graduate and aspiring TV writer, and Justin, a graduate math student working on his PhD, strive to put together a podcast of minute details, plot threads, character motivations, and anything and everything that has to do with the latest Lost episode. Without music segments and listener call-ins, they want their podcast to sound like two guys, hanging out, talking about a great TV show. I do think they accomplish that. Listening to them has the feeling of overhearing two knowledgable Lost fans chatting about the show, which is, in fact, how the podcast started. Claude and Justin would call each other after each show and talk for hours.

The Lost Lowdown Podcast is more of a stream of consciousness podcast and less of a highly produced, prepared podcast. Each podcast averages 3-4 hours in length, making it great to listen to during long commutes.

While Claude and Justin do a very in depth job of talking about Lost items, we only get the perspective of the two of them. I miss the fact that there are no listener call-ins to give other perspectives for Justin and Claude to talk about. I also imagine that several of their listeners would like to publicly comment on things Justin and Claude have said.

"Our podcast rests solely on its content and our personalities," Claude and Justin say, "and there are many people out there who appreciate that."
