Ana-Lucia has Sayid tied up, and everyone else thinks she should let Sayid go. She finally let's everyone but Sayid go and she and Sayid talk about her past. She unties him and gives him the gun, but he doesn't shoot her.
Jack wants to go out to the jungle, but Eko won't take him to where Ana-Lucia is. He says she made a mistake when she shot Shannon, and Jack recognizes the name, Ana-Lucia. Eko agrees to take only Jack and with no guns. They see Sayid carrying Shannon's body back and Ana-Lucia and Jack stare at each other.
In flashbacks, Ana-Lucia is with a shrink who lets her return to work after four months. She is an officer for the LAPD and her mother is her captain. She goes back on patrol and inappropriately pulls a gun on someone.
Back at the department, they have the guy who shot her four months earlier.
She says it's not him, so they have to let him go. She later finds him and before shooting him tells him that she had been pregnant.
