In flashbacks, Charlie and his buddy, Tommy, are in an alleyway doing drugs. Tommy says he needs money from Charlie, but Charlie doesn't think that DriveShaft will get back together. Tommy takes him into the pub and points out Lucy.
She and her father are rich. Charlie hooks up with her with the intent of robbing her, but instead he begins to like her and her father, and takes a job from the father. Tommy is upset and wants money, so cuts of the drug supply to Charlie. Charlie, going through withdrawal, throws-up at his first day of work. Lucy is appalled and hurt when she finds out the truth.
