By Bonnie Covel, About.com

Learn about the secondary characters we've seen in the past who will show up in season 4, episode 13, There's No Place Like Home Part 2.

Richard Alpert

Richard is the man who doesn't age. We've seen him several times and he always looks to be in his late 30s. We saw him in the jungle when Ben was a kid. He visited Locke shortly after Locke was born and then again when Locke was five. He was on the island at the time of the purge and he seems to be an important figure to the Others.

In the last episode, There's No Place Like Home Part 1, he came upon Sayid and Kate and took them with him and his people.

Christian was Jack's father and they didn't have a great relationship. Christian was also a surgeon, but lost his license after Jack exposed that he was operating while under the influence of alcohol. Jack was bringing Christian's body back from Australia when the plane went down.

Jack has seen Christian on the island as well as off the island after he was rescued. Others, including Locke, Claire, Miles, and Hurley have seen Christian on the island.

It turns out Christian also fathered Claire.

In Jacob's cabin, Locke talked to Christian who said he could speak on behalf of Jacob.
