Ilana shows her badge to airport security and escorts Sayid to the plane. - Episode 5x7, The Life and Death of Jeremy Bentham
Ilana finds Caesar in a room on the island and wants to know what he put in his bag. Caesar pulls out a flashlight and tosses it to her. She tells him that they found a man in a suit standing in the water and that no one remembers him from the plane.

The next day she talks to Locke and asks why he's dressed so nice. Locke says he thinks it's what they dressed him in for his funeral. She shakes her head and walks away.

Ilana is disoriented after the crash, but soon realizes that Sayid is no longer beside her. - Episode 5x10, He's Our You
In Sayid's flashback, he remembers meeting Ilana at a bar. She says she likes sad men and they go to a hotel. Ilana kicks Sayid in the face and takes him prisoner. He asks if she is a bounty hunter and she tells him not to worry about what she is. She was hired to take Sayid to Guam by the man's family whom Sayid killed on the golf course. - Episode 5x12, Dead is Dead
Ilana seems to be in a charge of a large crate on the beach. A man runs to Frank when he arrives back on the smaller island to say that they found guns. Frank goes to see what is going on and Ilana says, "What lies in the shadow of the statue?" Frank doesn't know what she's talking about and she hits him with her rifle. She tells one of the men, "Get everyone else. Tell them it's time. And tie him up. He's coming with us." - Episode 5x16, The Incident
Ilana, Bram, and the people working for them take the crate and Frank to the main island. Bram wants to know why they are bringing Frank, and Ilana says they may need him. Bram wonders if she thinks he's a candidate and she says that Frank is awake. He wants to know what he's a candidate for, but Bram and Ilana don't tell him.Frank wants to know what is in the crate and Ilana looks at Bram who says it's her call. She says to show him and they open the crate and he looks inside.
They go to Jacob's cabin and Ilana looks concerned when Bram points out a break in the ash circle. Ilana goes into the cabin alone and finds that it's been abandoned and there is a picture of the statue. She goes out and tells them he hasn't been there for a long time and to burn the cabin.
Later, at the statue, they dump out the crate and we see that it's John Locke's body that was inside.
In flashbacks, Ilana remembers being in a Russian hospital covered in bandages. Jacob comes to see her and apologizes that it took him so long. He asks if Ilana will help him and she says she will.
