Caesar is in line behind Jack at the airport and offers his condolences about Jack's friend. He is also sitting in the same section of the plane as the Oceanic 6. - Episode 5x7, The Life and Death of Jeremy Bentham
On the island, Caesar looks through some Dharma stuff in a room. He finds a sawed-off shotgun and puts it in his bag and then lies when Ilana asks what he put in there. He takes out a flashlight and tosses it to her.Ilana tells him that they found a man in a suit standing in the water and he goes and talks to the man, who introduces himself as John Locke, but no one remembers him from the plane.
Later, Locke tells Caesar about the Dharma Initiative and Caesar asks him how some of the passengers disappeared in the flash of light during the crash. Locke says he thinks that is how he got there and he needs to find his friends.
Caesar says they don't have the passenger list because the pilot took it when he ran off.

After the crash, Caesar says to Ilana, "Hey, lady, are you okay?" - Episode 5x12, Dead is Dead
Caesar asks Ben what he thinks of Locke, and Ben says that he thinks Locke is crazy and they should take precautions. Caesar shows Ben the gun he'd found and tells Ben that he's got his back.When Locke tries to take the outrigger, Caesar looks for his gun, but Ben had stolen it and Ben shoots Caesar.
