In episode 5x4, The Little Prince, Sawyer and his group rowed across the island when they were suddenly shot at.

The most logical answer is that it was Ilana and her group when they were in the other outrigger on their way to the main island. They were probably shooting at Sawyer for stealing the outrigger.
