'Lost' Answer - Who Built the Statue

Our Theoretical 'Lost' Answer

From , former About.com Guide

The question is: Who built the four-toed statue?
  • A few thousand years ago (give or take) the island was temporarily located in the Mediterranean Sea, just off Alexandria, and they needed a lighthouse (no, not THAT lighthouse, that came much later!) to help ships steer clear of the obstruction. That was the statue’s original purpose, with living quarters for the light keeper.
  • The island was at one time located in the Mediterranean Sea, as we see with Claudia being washed up there speaking Latin. Prior to this time, Egyptians had also been drawn to the island and one or more of them may have served as the Protector. Folks from these groups built the statue, which at least Jacob decided was a dandy dry home out of the jungle. That might not have been its original purpose. Prior protectors might not have used it. It might originally have been a burial place for a leader of a group who had come there (an Egyptian Dharma Initiative or whatever).
