Anthony Cooper at it Again

Episode 3x13, The Man From Tallahassee - Flashback 3
Locke goes into a flower shop and watches, hidden by some flowers. A woman looks at a flower arrangement and asks what Anthony thinks. Anthony comes over and asks what she thinks. She thinks it could be a bit larger and he agrees. He sees Locke and says he'll look over by where Locke is.

He walks over there and says hello and Locke wants to know if there'll be a big to-do or if it will just be the two of them and a preacher.

Anthony wants to know how Locke found out and Locke tells him about Peter Talbot coming to him. Anthony wants to know what Locke told Peter and Locke says that he wants Anthony to call it off "because it's not fair. You come into people's lives and make them feel like family." He says Anthony has to call it off or he will tell her the truth.

Anthony starts to walk away and Locke grabs him. "I want to hear you say it. You say you're going to leave."

"Okay, John, you got it," Anthony says.

Peter Talbot is Dead

Episode 3x13, The Man From Tallahassee - Flashback 4
Locke parks his little red bug. He pulls his groceries out and walks toward his apartment. A man and woman stop him. "John Locke?" the woman asks. "Detective Mason, that's Detective Reed. Do you mind if we ask you a few questions?"

"No, of course not," Locke says.

"Do you know a man named Peter Talbot?"

"No, I don't think so."

"Thin, brown hair, early 20s," Reed says.

"If it will be helpful," Mason says, "we believe he was here in your apartment two days ago."

"Oh, oh, oh, yeah," Locke says. "He was a solicitor. I sent him away."

"Mr. Talbot's family is worth somewhere in the neighborhood of 2 million dollars. So I'm curious, what exactly was he selling you door to door?"

"Look, I told you I don't know him."

"And why was your name and address on a piece of paper in his pocket, Mr. Locke?"

"Why would you be looking through his pockets?"

"Because Peter Talbot is dead."

Locke's Back Breaks

Episode 3x13, The Man From Tallahassee - Flashback 6
Locke bangs on Anthony's door and when he opens it, Locke barges in. He tells Anthony to tell him that he didn't do it.

"What are you talking about?" Anthony says.

"Tell me that you didn't kill that kid!"

"What? You think I had something to do with Peter's death?"

"I tell you to end things with his mother and the next thing you know he's dead."

"John," Anthony says, "now calm down, please. Why would I kill Peter?"

"He was on to you!"

"John, I've been doing this for a long time. I'm not sweating some rich kid."

"Why are you still here?"

Anthony pours two glasses of MacCutcheon whiskey. "What do you mean?"

"I tell you to leave. You tell me you're going to leave town. Why are you still here?"

"Listen, John, I'll be honest with you. I didn't end it. I was looking for an angle. I wanted to make some money before I skipped out. But then all this happened. Peter died and everything just went straight into the tank. She's devastated. She's called off the wedding. There's no profit in it, John. I'm a con man, not a murderer."

"She called off the wedding," John says sarcastically.

"She said she couldn't deal with it. She needs to be alone."

"So if I were to call her, right now, that's what she would tell me?"

"Phone's right over there, John."

"What's her number--"

Anthony tackles Locke and pushes him out the window. Locke falls eight stories.

Later, bruised and bandaged and in a hospital bed, Locke talks to Detectives Mason and Reed.

"Mr. Locke, I know this isn't what you want to hear," Detective Mason says, "but your father is gone. We know he fled to Mexico shortly after your encounter and then he disappeared. I'm sorry. He could be anywhere in the world right now."

A nurse walks in and says, "Alright, detectives, that's enough. Mr. Locke has work to do today."

Detective Mason says they'll let him know if anything develops.

"John, John, John," the nurse says, "we have got ourselves quite a day ahead of us, my friend." He lowers the bed rail. "It's a fine time to get you out of the bed."

Locke grips the blankets. "No, I don't want to."

"I don't remember asking," the nurse says and he pulls the blankets down. He brings in a wheelchair and says, "Now, most people struggle with this at first, but don't worry, you'll get used to it."

"No, please, I can't do this," Locke says.

"John, you fell eight stories and survived. I don't want to hear about what you can't do." He picks up Locke while Locke argues. He places him in the chair while Locke looks terrified and says he'll be right back. Locke breaks down and cries."
