Left Behind Flashback Information
Flashback Character: KateFlashback Highlights: Still on the run and on her way to see her mom, Kate's car breaks down. The tow truck driver gives her a ride to a gas station, where she meets Cassidy. Cassidy's necklace con is not going well and the guy threatens to call the cops, but Kate says her father owns a jewelry store and she can spot a fake. She buys one and when the men walk off, she asks for her money back.
Kate and Cassidy become friends and Cassidy helps Kate to see her mother, despite federal agents watching Diane at all times. Kate asks why Diane turned her in and Diane says that she loved Wayne and that Kate killed him in cold blood not for Diane, but for herself. She tells Kate that if she ever sees her again, she will call for help.
Cassidy tells Kate that she is pregnant by a man whom she still loves who conned her out of her life savings.
Left Behind Island Highlights
Hurley tricks Sawyer into being nice to people. He tells Sawyer that there is going to be a vote and that Sawyer might be banished. At first Sawyer acts like he doesn't care, but then he tries to gut a fish and decides that he needs the other survivors. He asks Hurley what he can do to get the survivors' vote.The first thing Hurley makes Sawyer do is apologize for calling Hurley names. Then he has him talk to Claire and comment on the baby. Next, Sawyer goes hunting with Desmond and gets a boar, which he cooks for everyone.
Sawyer finds out that Hurley made it all up and confronts him. Hurley says that Sawyer is their temporary leader.
Meanwhile, Kate wakes up in the jungle after being gassed. She is handcuffed to Juliet and they make their way back to the Others' camp, even though Juliet doesn't want to. They hear the monster and hide from it.
The next morning, they hear the monster again and Juliet struggles to get Kate to go inside the security fence, but Kate won't walk through it. As the monster gets closer, Juliet pulls the key to the handcuffs out of her pocket and releases her handcuff. She goes inside the fence and puts in a code. She tells Kate to get on the same side, and at the last minute Kate does and Juliet activates the fence. The monster can't cross the barrier.
Kate is mad at Juliet and Juliet explains that she wanted Kate to think they were in it together. Kate and Juliet get to the deserted camp and find Jack and Sayid. Sayid doesn't want Juliet to go with them, but Jack says that she is coming and walks off with Juliet. Sayid and Kate follow.
