Flashes Before Your Eyes Flashback Information
Flashback Character: DesmondFlashback Highlights: I don't think that it's actually a flashback, I think Desmond really traveled back in time and was doing again what he'd already done.
Penny moved into his flat and wanted him to get a job working for her father. He went to her father and asked for Penny's hand in marriage, but her father said that Desmond was not worthy.
Desmond went to a pawn shop to buy a ring and decided on one, but the pawn shop owner would not give it to him. She told him that he had a specific path to follow and that if he didn't follow it they'd all be dead.
Desmond said he could choose his own path, but ended up going down the same path and breaking Penny's heart.
Later he came to the conclusion that he could change things and was about to go after Penny, but was hit with a bat and when he woke, he was back on the island.
Flashes Before Your Eyes Island Highlights
Desmond saves Claire from the ocean and Charlie and Hurley want to know how he knew Claire was drowning. They get him drunk, but instead of telling them how he knew, Desmond tackles Charlie and says that Charlie doesn't want to know what happened when Desmond turned the failsafe key in the hatch.Charlie keeps asking and Desmond finally admits that he wasn't saving Claire, he was saving Charlie. He'd seen Charlie getting electrocuted and he'd seen him drown.
