Sawyer's Plan
Sawyer prepares to get a fish biscuit and Kate says, "Whenever you're ready to fill me in.""Shush up, I'm thinking," he says.
He gets the fish biscuit and watches the water run down to a puddle just outside his cage.
"You know that girl they brought in on the stretcher? That's broken nose man's girl."
"They call him Pickett."
"Well Pickett is distracted at the moment." He pulls a stick down and pushes the fork and knife button with it to show Kate the electricity. "There's juice pumping into this box from somewhere. Next time someone comes to pull me out, they're going to step into my little swimming hole here and I'll grab them. Zap! They fall back from the shock and I snag the keys. Bet the bears never thought of that."
"You're both going to get electrocuted."
"Yeah but I've felt the jolt, I can take it. The other guy ain't gonna be ready for it."
Kate looks away and he says, "What, you think I'm crazy?"
"No," she says, "I'm actually impressed."
"Well wipe the stars out of your eyes, little lady, 'cause we're gonna do this."
"So what about Jack?" she asks.
"What about him? We don't even know if he's here. We don't even know if he's alive. We've got to take care of us. It's every man for himself, Freckles."
Sawyer's Flashback - Sawyer Learns of 10 Mil
Sawyer knocks a guy out in a boxing ring.A guy says, "All right, Ford, that's enough."
Sawyer helps the man up. They are in a prison. Sawyer and the other prisoner walk back through the jail and the man says, "Problem is, I was watching your hands."
"Problem is, you're old and dumb," Sawyer says and the man laughs.
Down below they see a prisoner getting beat up. "Who's the punching bag?" Sawyer asks.
"Just got here. His name's Munson. Rumor has it he ripped off the government for 10 mil, but they never found the money. If your buddy the warden didn't keep breaking up the fights, Munson would be a dead man."
Sawyer looks up at the warden. "That son of a bitch."
Later, Sawyer approaches Munson in the sewing room. "Do you get little mints on your pillow too? You've been here a week and you're already on tote bag duty? I've been here nine months and I'm still pushing trash. You think the warden is breaking up those fights because you're cute, Costanza? First step, butter you up, give you a plum job. Step two, warden will reach out to your wife and use her against you. Text book con."
Munson wants to know why Sawyer is telling him.
"Advice is free, Murgatroyd. Past nine months that warden has made my life a living hell. He gets that 10 mil that you ain't got, I just may have to kill myself."
The warden walks in, eating an apple.
"Well howdy, Warden."
The warden asks Munson if Sawyer is bothering him and Munson shakes his head.
"Don't think I can't extend your stay, Ford," the warden says. "All it takes is one call." He throws his apple on the ground and says to Sawyer, "How about you get that trash?"
Sawyer's Failed Escape
Ben walks toward the cage and Sawyer whispers, "Oh yeah, the big Kahuna."Ben steps just outside the puddle and Sawyer says, "Lunch already?"
"What do you weigh?" Ben asks.
"180 give or take."
Ben steps right on the edge of the puddle. "How old are you?"
"32."
"Don't lie."
"35."
"Good," Ben says. He steps in the puddle and starts to open the cage.
Sawyer grabs him and kicks the button three times, but nothing happens. He kicks again, then pulls Ben tighter and says, "What did you do?"
"We turned it off," Ben says, then hits Sawyer with a billy club. He opens the cage and repeatedly hits Sawyer with the club. Kate yells for Sawyer.
Sawyer comes to. He's in a room and he hears Tom say, "...been two days since the sky turned purple, we've been blind, our coms are all down and I can't get them back up again, and in case you forgot, Colleen's in critical-"
Ben cuts in, "Juliet's taking care of her."
"Where am I?" Sawyer says. He's shackled to a table.
"Jason," Ben says.
A man walks over and gives Sawyer something to bite down on.
"It's for the pain," Ben says.
Sawyer yells, "No! No!"
Another man raises a needle above Sawyer. "God I hate needles," Ben says.
Sawyer is yelling with the stick in his mouth and in another room, Jack hears him through the intercom.
The man with the needle goes to put it in Sawyer and the other man says, "No, you have to go through the sternum. The sternum, like in the movie."
