Jack's Flash Forward - Car Crash Victim
Jack stands in front of a patient, looking at a chart. His hand shakes. He pulls a pill bottle from his white coat and takes some pills.A doctor walks in and says, "Can I help you?"
"Just checking her chart."
"I'm sorry, I'm Doctor Hamill, Rob, the new Chief of Surgery. I don't believe we've met yet."
"Jack Shephard."
"Jack Shephard, the hero, twice over." He extends his hand and Jack shakes it. "You all right? After last night I'm surprised you'd even want to come in. Talk about right place, right time, huh? This woman is very lucky you were there."
"If she was lucky she wouldn't have a fractured back that was impinging upon her spinal cord," Jack says. "I'd like to operate first thing in the morning." He puts her x-ray up on the screen.
"You want to operate?" Dr. Hamill says.
"Yes."
"I'm sorry, Jack, but this isn't your patient. And we are well aware of the issues. Gary Nadler is doing the surgery at 6 a.m."
"With all do respect, Dr. Hamill, I'd rather do it myself."
"Jack, last night you pulled this woman's eight year old son out of a flaming car and then you went back for her. I think you've done enough."
"I want to do the surgery."
"Look, everything's under control here. She'll be fine." He retrieves the x-ray. "Go home. Have a drink. You deserve it." Jack doesn't move and he says, "The chart please, Jack."
Jack looks at the woman, then hands him the chart. "You call me. I want to know what happens." He walks out and into the waiting room. On the TV is news about the car crash. A little boy waves at Jack.
Sawyer and Juliet Go Back
The group walks up a hill. Sawyer stops. "I'm going back to the beach.""No way," Jack says, "we keep moving."
"I ain't asking permission," Sawyer says. "Look, you got a job to do here. I ain't gonna stand in your way of doing it. You sure as hell don't need me."
"What do you think you're going to get done alone and unarmed?" Jack asks.
Kate says, "He won't be alone. I'll go with him."
"No," Sawyer says.
"Twenty minutes ago," Kate says, "you weren't even interested in going, and now your telling Jack that--"
"I didn't want to go with you," he says.
"Sawyer," Jack says, "it's a suicide mission without guns."
"I know where there are some guns," Juliet says. "There's a hidden cache a couple of miles from here. I can take us back to the beach in a route past it."
"Juliet, you don't have to do that," Jack says.
"Yeah, Jack, I kind of do."
Sawyer walks one direction, Kate walks the other.
Jack tells Juliet not to do anything stupid.
"I won't if you won't," she says. She kisses him as Kate watches. "Don't wait up."
Mikhail in The Looking Glass
Desmond watches from a closet as Charlie sings."I told you to shut up!" Bonnie says.
"You know when you've got a tune stuck in your head?" Charlie says. "This song just started coming to me. I'm almost finished, just need to find the bridge."
She gets up and slaps her gun down on the table. "Get the spear gun!"
"What? Why?" Greta says.
"Because I want it to hurt."
"No! Ben said--"
"You don't want to get it," Bonnie says, "I will."
She goes toward the closet where Desmond is hiding and Charlie says, "No, I'll shut up! I'll shut up!"
Mikhail, with scuba gear, pops up in the moon pool.
"Mikhail?" Bonnie says.
"I thought you two were on assignment in Canada," he says.
"He made us promise not to tell anyone," Greta says.
Mikhail climbs out.
"Hello again," Charlie says.
"Where is the other one? This idiot swam down from a boat. I was just shooting at his friend. He dove down here."
"He's alone," Bonnie says.
"Are you sure about that?" Mikhail has a knife.
"Here's a bad question to ask, Cyclops," Charlie says. "Why did your little friend, Ben, tell you that this entire station was flooded when it isn't? Or, why these two have been jamming transmissions off the island?"
"Is that true?" Mikhail says.
They hear beeping and Greta says, "That's Ben."
"I'll get it," Mikhail says, and goes into the other room and shuts the door.
Take Care of Them
Ben and Alex walk through the jungle. Into the walkie-talkie Ben says, "You have to understand, everything I did, I did for the island."In The Looking Glass, Mikhail talks into the microphone. "The island told you it was necessary to jam your own people?"
"Yes it did. You've always been a loyalist, Mikhail. Now I'm asking you to trust me, to trust Jacob, who told me to do this."
"Why would Jacob ask you to lie to your own people?"
"Because this island is under assault by forces stronger than anything it's had to deal with in many, many years, and we are meant to protect it, Mikhail, by any means necessary. The jamming was for everyone's security. We are in a serious situation here."Alex looks at him.
Mikhail stands in The Looking Glass. "So why not trust me?"
"I made a mistake. I should have told you and I apologize." He hears static. "Mikhail are you still there?"
"Yes."
"I need you to help me. I need you to help me clean up this mess that I've made. I need you to kill Charlie."
Alex looks at Ben.
Ben continues, "Make sure the jamming mechanism continues to function at all costs. And we can't risk Greta and Bonnie telling the others about what we've done, so you'll have to take care of them, too."
Alex can't believe what she's hearing.
Mikhail says, "How do I know you didn't say the same thing to them about me."
"Because if I had, Mikhail, you'd already be dead.
