Programmed by a Musician
Greta floats face down in the water. Mikhail lies on the floor, blood pooling around him. Charlie takes the last of the rope off his hands and goes to Bonnie. She tells him to go away."Bonnie let's just get this over with," Charlie says. "What's the code?"
"She's not going to tell you," Desmond says.
"Yes, she's going to tell me," Charlie says.
"What makes you say that?"
"Because you say it's my destiny to turn off that jammer." Charlie looks at Bonnie. "Okay, Bonnie, we're all going to die down here, all right? Let's be perfectly honest. The one-eyed maniac just killed your friend. He shot you in the back. It would appear that your glorious leader, Ben, put him up to it. You're a sodding idiot. You have the opportunity to make Ben very, very angry. Why would you not do that?""Five, four, five," Bonnie says.
"What?"
"Eight, seven, six, five, five."
"Is that a code?" Charlie pulls the pen out of his pocket. He tells her start again, but she is really out of it.
"Good Vibrations," she says. "Beach Boys. On the keypad, the numbers, they're notes. It was programmed by a musician." Her eyes close.
Then I'll Kill Him
Jack walks back to the others, dragging Ben. "Tie him up, he's coming with us." Jack walks on and Kate follows.Alex kneels next to Ben. Rousseau walks up next to her and Alex looks up. "What?"
Ben says, "Alex, this is your mother."
Alex stands up. Rousseau touches Alex's face. "Better help me tie him up."
Up the hill, Jack stops and takes out his water. Kate catches up to him and says, "What happened? What'd he say?"
"That's not important right now. Just get everyone together and--"
"Jack, your knuckles." She gets out supplies and wipes his hand. "What happened?"
"He killed them. Bernard, Jin, Sayid, all three of them. He radioed the beach and I let it happen. I had to let it happen. We can't tell Rose or Sun, not yet. We've got to keep moving. I promised Sayid we'd keep moving."
"Why did you bring him back? Why didn't you just kill him?"
"Because I want him to see it. I want him to experience the moment we get off this island and I want him to know that he failed. And then I'll kill him."
Hugo to the Rescue
On the beach, Ryan and Tom walk. Ryan says, "It was an order, Tom, we had to follow it.""Ben doesn't know what the hell he's talking about. He's lost it. I mean look at us. Instead of putting three bullets in the damn sand, we should have killed them for real."
Bernard, Sayid, and Jin are in the background.
Juliet and Sawyer watch from cover.
"All they've got left," Sawyer says, "is three guys and four guns."
"And all we've got, James, are two people and no guns."
"So we'll wait until night."
"Night's not going to change the fact that we're unarmed. If you want to kill yourself, that's fine, but before you go--"
"Shhh," Sawyer says. "You hear that?"
They look into the jungle and move out of the way as Hurley comes flying through in the Dharma bus. As Ryan shoots, Hurley runs over him.
Hurley stops and Sawyer comes up beside the bus. He closes the door as Hurley opens it. "Stay in the bus, Hugo."
Sawyer picks up Ryan's gun, and using the bus for cover, points the gun at Jason. Sayid trips Jason and uses his legs to break his neck.
Tom crawls for a gun, but Juliet steps on his hand and picks up the gun. "Stay right there, Tom."
"Okay, I give up," Tom says.
Sawyer shoots him. "That's for taking the kid off the raft."
"Dude, it was over. He surrendered," Hurley says.
"I didn't believe him," Sawyer says.
