Present - Introducing Sayid to Naomi
Hurley finds Sayid and asks if he can keep a secret. He brings Sayid to where they have Naomi hidden in a tent.Sayid asks Charlie, "You've already spoken to her?"
"Yeah," Charlie says. "You're going to want to hear it for yourself."
"And you haven't told Jack?"
"No"
"Good."
Inside, Sayid sees Desmond taking care of Naomi. Sayid says, "My name is Sayid Jarrah. I understand your helicopter crashed on the island."
"Actually," she says, "it crashed on the water."
"What's your name?"
"Naomi. Naomi Dorrit."
"Naomi, from where, exactly, did you take off?"
"A ship, freighter, about 80 nautical miles from here."
"You told my friends the wreckage of Flight 815 was recovered. Did you mean the partial wreckage?"
"No. They found the entire plane off the coast of Bali, in an ocean trench about four miles deep. They sent down cameras in little robots to survey the wreck. The bodies were all there."
"Well, obviously we're not dead."
"Obviously."
"So, if you weren't looking for us, then who were you looking for?"
She looks at Desmond. "Him."
"Desmond?"
"My company was hired by a woman named Penelope Widmore. I don't know why, I never met her. She gave us a set of coordinates. We've been conducting a differential GPS grid search ever since."
"You knew about the island?"
"Island? We were given coordinates in the middle of the bloody ocean. We thought it was a fool's errand, until three days ago. I was flying back for the ship when all of the sudden the clouds cleared and I saw land. The instruments started spinning and I realized I was going down, so I grabbed my chute and I bailed."
Sayid asks Desmond, "Did you actually see her helicopter?"
"No," Desmond says.
"You think I'm lying, mate?" Naomi says.
"You have no means whatsoever of communicating with that freighter of yours?"
"What was your name again? Sayid?"
"Yes."
She pulls the satellite phone out and says, "Remind me not to rescue you, Sayid."
Present - Who'd You Mean to Kill?
Locke and Sawyer come to a stream and Locke drinks. Sawyer soaks his feet.Sawyer says, "So, Ben, you said I'd kill him when I heard what he had to say. So why don't you give me a heads up."
"It's not really my place to say."
"Look, what you read in that file, about the guy in Sydney. I thought he was someone else. I made a mistake. I didn't mean to kill him."
"Well, who'd you mean to kill?"
"Are we almost there?"
"Almost."
Three Days Ago - Night Time
Ben walks over and uses his walking stick to wake Locke, who is sleeping on ground. "Wake up, John. It's time."John follows Ben to where Anthony is tied. Ben gives him a knife. "I know it won't it be easy, but the quicker the better."
"You're kidding, right?" Anthony says. "You expect him to kill me?"
Locke looks at the knife.
"John," Ben says, "the hesitation that you are feeling is just the part of you that still feels like he has a perfectly good explanation for stealing your kidney, throwing you out of an eight story window. Don't you want to be free of him?"
Anthony says, "The hesitation he's feeling is because he's a spineless--"
"Shut up!" Locke says. He looks around at the people gathering. "I've got to think."
"Don't think, John," Ben says.
"You're wasting your time, bug eye," Anthony says, "me and him have been through all this. All he wants is his daddy."
"Shut up!" Locke yells. "I said shut up!" He grabs Anthony and puts the knife to his throat.
"You really haven't figured it out yet," Anthony says.
"Let go of him, John," Ben says.
"Why are you doing this to me?" Locke asks.
Ben says, "You're doing this to yourself. As long as he's still breathing, you'll still be that same sad, pathetic little man that was kicked off his Walkabout Tour because you couldn't walk."
Locke raises the knife to Anthony, but then can't do it.
"I'll be here the rest of the week, John, if you change your mind," Anthony says and Ben knocks Anthony out with his cane.
Ben takes the knife and then turns to the gathered people and says, "I'm sorry. He's not who we thought he was."
He walks past the gathered people, including Richard Alpert, Cindy, and children, Zack and Emma.
Present - Locke Introduces Sawyer to the Black Rock
"Nice place you got here, Locke," Sawyer says as they come upon the Black Rock."Ben's inside in the brig. You ready?"
They go inside.
Sawyer sees skeletons in chains. "Friends of yours?"
"It's an old slaving ship. Mid 19th century. My guess is they captured the slaves and brought them here to mine the island."
"What's in the boxes?"
"That would be dynamite."
Sawyer hears someone struggling on the other side of the door. "You really kidnapped the little bastard?"
Locke opens the door.
Sawyer says, "We ain't killing him, Locke."
"Whatever you say, James."
Sawyer sees a man with a bag over his head. Sawyer leaves the knife at the door and goes inside. "Well, well, well."
Locke locks Sawyer inside with the man. Sawyer beats on the door. He tells the man to shut up and pulls the bag off his head to reveal Anthony. "Who the hell are you?"
