Sun's Flashback - Pictures
Sun unpacks pictures and Jin comes in with a tray. "Surprise!" he says. "I got your favorite, tofu soup.""Thank you," she says. "Let me finish this box."
"We'll unpack later. Let's eat."
She holds two framed pictures. "Do you mind if I put this on the table?"
"Not at all." He walks over and looks at the pictures as he hugs her from behind. It's a picture of her with her parents when she graduated. "Even in a cap and gown, you're the sexiest woman I've ever seen."
"Don't you have any pictures of your family?"
"We didn't have a camera growing up."
"No pictures at all? Didn't your father leave you any?"
"No. I was in the army when he died."
"The army? You said your father died when you were sixteen."
Jin gets agitated. "No. I was in the army."
"But you told me--"
"You must have misunderstood! What is this about, Sun?"
"It's nothing. I'm sorry."
"Your soup is getting cold."
What Happens to Pregnant Women?
Sun puts a tarp on top of a shelter. "How's this?" she asks Kate."That's perfect," Kate says. "Thank you."
Sun notices Kate looking over to where Jack is and says, "What do you think happened to Jack while he was with the Others? Since he's been back, he seems different."
"He says that he was pretty much a prisoner and the only reason why he cooperated was because he thought they would let him off the island," Kate says.
"Do you believe him?"
"Why wouldn't I?"
"He came to me," Sun says, "asking about my pregnancy."
"Well what would that have anything to do with--"
"What if the Others want my baby? He's been there alone for over a week. How do we know he isn't working with them?"
"He's not working with them," Kate says.
"Do you know something, Kate?"
Kate looks over and sees Juliet washing clothes. "It's Juliet. She was their doctor, their fertility doctor studying pregnant women. And when Claire was sick she told me and Jack, the reason the Others wanted her baby, was for research."
Sun walks down the beach and Kate runs after her. "Sun, you don't have to do this."
"Go away, Kate!"
"I want to know about your research," Sun says to Juliet. "What happens to pregnant women?"
Juliet softly says, "You're pregnant. Are you sure? How do you know?"
"I asked you a question! Everyone might be all right with you washing your clothes and eating our food, but I want to know what's going on. I want answers! What are you people doing? Why are you taking children? What happens to pregnant women on this island? What happens to pregnant--"
"They die," Juliet says. "They all die."
"Sun, come on, let's go," Kate says and gives Juliet a how-could-you look.
Mikhail
Parachute girl says something and Hurley says, "What'd she say?"Jin says, "Chinese, not Korean."
Charlie thinks they should pull the branch out of her side, but Desmond says that will make it worse.
"You've forgotten what's at stake here!" Charlie says. "Or is this just another one of your flashes? Who's getting an arrow in the neck this time?"
"Lest you forget!" Desmond says. "She said my bloody name! She had a photo of me and my girlfriend! Do I understand? I understand better than a lot of you!"
"Hey, guys," Hurley says, "chill."
"We've wasted enough time already," Desmond says.
"You're not leaving us," Charlie says.
"You just get out of my way, Charlie."
"No."
They hear something and Desmond pulls a knife. Mikhail comes running out of the jungle. He looks at them for a moment, then takes off running the other direction.
Jin looks at Desmond, then runs after Mikhail. Desmond yells for Jin and runs after him. Jin jumps Mikhail and they fight. Jin gets him in a choke hold and Desmond and Charlie catch up.
Desmond pushes Mikhail up against a tree and says, "Who are you?"
Mikhail says nothing and Desmond puts the flare gun to his chest. "I said, who are you?" Desmond says.
Charlie says, "He's the man who shot Sayid. Kate told us he lived out in that station Locke blew up. He's an Other."
"I thought Locke killed that guy with the electric fence thingy," Hurley says.
"You've got five seconds to talk," Desmond says, "before I fire this gun, brother."
"That's a flare gun," Mikhail says.
"How do you think it will feel," Desmond says, "taking a flare to the chest at this range?"
Mikhail shrugs. "As your friend pointed out, I already died once this week."
Parachute girl says something and Desmond realizes that Mikhail understands her.
"She's speaking Italian," Mikhail says. "She said she's dying. She needs help. I was a Soviet Army field medic, I can offer you my services."
Desmond pushes him over to where she is.
"What are you doing?" Charlie asks.
"I'm saving her," Desmond says.
Mikhail looks at parachute girl's wound. "This branch has punctured her lung. It's filling with blood. If it is not ventilated soon, she's going to die."
Desmond continues to point the flare gun at Mikhail. "Well do it! Help her!"
"If I fix her," Mikhail says, "you must let me walk away as if I never came upon you."
Desmond looks around at everyone, then says, "What do you need?"
